We really love this pub! They pour a damn good Guinness(we reckon closer to one you would get in Ireland than most places in Perth) and the food is always delicious! We had the shepherd’s pie and soda bread today and it didn’t dissapoint! The pie was rich, hearty, homestyle cooking, and the soda bread was doft, dense & crumbly with a crispy crust! Other great dishes we have had have been the chicken & leek pie, steak & ale pie, and the pork sausages with colcannon mash.

Came here for steak and was surprised at how busy the dining area gets. Found out why when the food arrived as it was yummy and generous portions! Feels a little cramped and loud so maybe not a date spot but good with friends.

Stopped in here yesterday after the Leederville Festival. Always a great crowd & a giggle to be had. We did end up having chips & onion rings which were tasty & of course the wine helped them go down a treat. Only complaint is they only have 1 cider on tap & it’s not to everyone’s taste, hence the wine I was drinking. They have a great beer garden out back.

I’ve been here for drinks before and always thought it was great and that a meal here would be good. I was right. My bruv and I dropped in for lunch yesterday(Tuesday) and everything was awesome. It wasn’t busy so we managed to grab a table on the footpath as it was a nice, warm and sunny day for it. The Guinness was perfect, my bro had a cider which he said was tops and the fish and chips with mushy peas and coleslaw we both had were top notch. Crispy batter on the fish, mushy peas were just the right level of mushiness(not watery, not gluggy) and the chips were fantastic. Decently priced, too. Service was quick, efficient and friendly and the décor and ambiance is great. I could spend hours looking at all the pictures on the wall of old Ireland but I’m a bit keen on history. :) In summary; an excellent, Irish-themed pub in the heart of the Oxford St café strip. I’ll definitely go again.

I don’t drink and it may seem strange to leave a review here since it’s a pub, but I love their food! Their pies are a little pricey as pies goes but that’s what I come here for each time whether it’s the beef or chicken with their mash. My only soso experience here was with their steak. But if you’re looking for hearty food on a winters night this is a great place to come to. Main gripe is that their kitchen closes too early on some nights.

This is one of the best pubs in perth, great food and ambience! Fantastic service as well, just ignore the noisy part at the front and head to the back restaurant

Great little bar, popped in for a drink while we were at the Light Up Leederville festival yesterday. Staff were very friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. The front bar was very busy, all seats taken. there was room in the dining room and courtyard though. Would like to try some pub grub next time :)

I have been going to this place for drinks for years, and it has always been a warm and friendly place, but I had never tried the food. I had dinner there last night and I was impressed. The chicken and leak pie was delicious, and all the food was really good Irish pub food. Portion sizes are very generous and it is very well priced. The service is also very friendly and efficient. Recommended for a few drinks or a nice, simple meal with friends.

Simple if not small venue smack bang in the Leederville precinct. Filled with Irish accents both patrons and service staff — can’t help but try and talk with the melody of a four leaf clover if you spend time here. Second time I’ve been… had the rib eye 500gms on the bone, medium rare, better half had the sirloin, well done. Mine was an absolute cracker. Superb. Reminded me of another rib eye from Gallagher’s in Las Vegas. What’s with these Irish lads in other than Ireland doing a great steak? If you like your steak, worth a visit. I used the Entertainment Book voucher which was generous too.

Irish Larikins! This place is exactly what it appears to be. A typical Irish pub. Friendly service and a very casual yet warm atmosphere. The service is good and the food didn’t disappoint. A good place for a pint or two and a meal with a mate or a partner. The chicken and leak pie is recommended. Will be back in the future.

Let put this place in perspective. It’s a pub. Albeit an Irish one, but a pub non the less. I don’t have great expectations for food made in a beer house. I am sitting here tonight in the dining room. I still don’t expect anything out of the ordinary from my food order. If I get typical pub food I’d be happy enough. Irish accents abound. From the outset, the service is good, I don’t wait. When the food arrives I am pleasantly surprised by the presentation and especially the taste. Plain food, good for mid week dinner. Soda Bread and Beef and Guinness pie with cabbage and potato mash. Nothing at all fancy. But filling and tasty enough. This place doesn’t pretend to be anything other than a pub with a dining room. Honest cuisine, it betters expectations, I will be back again.

Love this place, of course being a Celt I would, it made me homesick with the lovely open fire, the music, the plain décor and the homestyle food. Service by the Irish staff could not be faulted, the place was clean, organized and I am definitely going back… actually if the rain stops I heading there tonight! Maybe you should ask what the sign above the bar means :-) Pog Mo Thoin!

I really like this pub, there is always a nice vibe inside, from loud drunk men to couples eating dinner in the restaurant at the back it is always buzzing inside. The staff are all really friendly, especially one Irish man, always ready to serve and really nice. The food I have had from here is delicious every time, traditional pub food that go down so well. My favourite thing from there is the very Irish Beef and Guinness pie. The pastry is out of this world good and the sauce is divine.

I found that the drinks were incredibly weak and I found it impossible to get drunk. The bartenders though were very nice, and didn’t mind that we had a large group of people with us who were incredibly rowdy. The bar was pretty small, and it got packed and hot rather quickly. We escaped to the beer garden, but found no relief from the heat because the beer garden had an overhead tarp. We sat outside in the beer garden and made a huge mess, and the staff never gave us a hard time and let us have a lot of fun. I don’t think that they were playing any music in the bar or maybe it was just so loud that I couldn’t hear it. Unfortunately, last call came too early at midnight.

Fibber McGee’s is a small pub which in my experience is usually fairly busy and rowdy. It makes for a good weekend atmosphere, but seems to make it a little difficult to hear what the bartenders are saying and vice versa — one of them gave up trying to tell me something(I have no idea what it might have been), and my friend asked for a beer and was given a whisky and coke instead. That’s not really a problem though — who needs hearing when you’re having a good time? Four out of five senses is good enough for me. There’s a nice beer garden out the back where you can sit and enjoy a Guiness, if you want to fit in with the Irish theme. I don’t drink Guinness myself, but apparently the Guinness here is different from how it is back home in the UK — so presumably Ireland too?(Sorry Irish people if this is wrong!) But it looks the same, so at least you’ll match the décor.

Fibber McGee’s is the perfect place for a late afternoon beer, especially if the late afternoon in question is sunny, and even more so if the early afternoon has been relatively boozy as well. Taking up a perch in the beer garden out the back, one can lean back and while away the time, perhaps with a bowl of chips accompanied, curiously, with a curry-like dipping sauce. One can take up a perch in the pub itself, too, though one can expect that to be rather louder, as well as a little darker, than out the back. Turn to the television screens for a perpetual line-up of sports and listen to the people speaking around you: they’re almost guaranteed to be from England or Ireland, their presence ensured not only by the place’s name but also by the flow of Guinness from the taps. The atmosphere, it goes without saying, is conducive to drinking as much of the stuff as you possibly can.

Fibber McGee’s is the ideal Irish Pub and Steakhouse for those who appreciate a rowdy, sport loving crowd, a hearty cut of meat and quenching beer. The menu features tasty Irish feasts: lamb shanks, pot pie, fish and chips and my good old favourite steak sandwich. The service was not super quick, but if your into the sporting social culture, then it is most certainly worth the wait; the tenderised meat from their own organic beef farm was cooked to perfection, the chips were deliciously crispy and the coleslaw was the superb finish. My girlfriends and I didn’t stay long enough to check out the beer garden out the back, but the boys absolutely loved the atmosphere and the beer on tap; if you want a place to impress a man, we all know that the way to their heart is through their stomach!

Although this may appear like your typical Irish bar, you have to remember it’s located in the lovely Leederville, so upon closer inspection it becomes apparent that it’s not the usual late night mess-fest drinking hole you would expect. It’s much more refined than that. It seems drinking is a secondary function of Fibbers — what really matters in here is the food. Doubling as a steakhouse and a traditional Irish restaurant(which anyone from Ireland will know is basically the same thing — Irish mammies just serve potatoes with their steaks instead of chips), the food in here is a delight! I came on a Thursday and it was quiet so the service was fast(I’m not sure how it would be on a busier weekend night). Any Irish out there feeling a bit home sick should go for the Irish soda bread for starters, nothing else like it Australia! For maincourse my dining companion ordered the steak and stout pie which came with colcannon(an Irish delicacy — mashed potato infused with cabbage) — delicious even if you don’t like cabbage. I had the bangers and mash. The sausages are Irish pork sausages — the real thing, none of this beef or chicken weirdness that is so popular in Oz! It truly was a party in my mouth!
