Whether you’re going down the escalator or entering from the car park, it’s hard to miss the Norton Grocer with its large neon sign and stands of fresh fruit. I love shopping there, they have an enormous range of fruit and vegetables, many of them out-of-season and brought in from other states. George also ensures a wide range of dry goods including unusual tin goods like palm hearts and artichokes, pasta and sauces are aways kept in stock. The large bank of wall fridges contain packages of cheese, French pastry, Crème Fraiche and the occasional Italian product such as jars of olives and sun dried tomatoes.(There is so much variety I would suggest going in just to have a look). The deli bar is a tour de force: homemade arancini, vegetables under oil and a large variety of cold meats mean the staff are always busy either cutting or serving. An enormous selection of bread and a wide choice of waters make up the total selection of stock — I could live here quite happily.
