The seating and ordering process here is a bit confusing, no one offers guidance so you are left to hunt down a table, a nenu and wirkout that you need to go to the counter to order. The food was good, the burger was tasty. My wife thought that the gnocchi was ok but no better than she could do at home. $ 5 for a coje is a bit pricy when you are not offering table service.

So as you walk in, nobody to greet you — so your left wondering do I just go and sit down do I wait? Then you go and put your order in m, no greeting it’s like they hate the job. I guess it’s everyone for themselves. I would not go back here. The food was nothing great — under cooked poached egg and $ 4 for a side of bacon. and for what you get meh. The coffee was ok that’s about it.

Yet another café /restaurant with zero focus on customer service. Hooray! Such a clunky ordering system. You need to choose a table before going to counter to order, but by the time you get back to your table, it’s been taken.

A great spot to meet for lunch at Chadstone. Plenty of healthy choices, prices are not cheap but in line with Chadstone options. They have tables inside and outside, you order at the counter and they bring out your food pretty quickly. We had large bowl of salad(half quinoa, half chicken) which was $ 15 each, so not super cheap but a pretty big meal. You can get small bowls for less. Water is available for free or a selection of organic soft drinks(meh) and pretty good coffee. Located at the DJs end, next to Tiffanies.

I’ve eaten here a few times in the last month and have had great meals and good service. The place is best for breakfast/brunch on the weekends where there is a mix of families, girlfriends catching up and people taking a cuppa break from all the Chaddy spending. Although we don’t have kids, it seems to have lots of rooms for prams and treats for the younger diners. Ordering at the counter may put a few people off, but I like being able to eat then run without waiting for the bill to come. Service is good, but generally nothing special. Although we did have a great experience when we stopped for dinner after some shopping. My husband ordered a parma which was tiny. The chef(unprompted) came over to say he thought it was a little small and was brining out an additional one. We thought this was a nice touch.

When Capital Kitchen opened up in Chadstone, I think a collective sigh of relief resounded throughout the giant city of a shopping centre — so much so that a mini tornado gathered through some of the aisles. It’s no secret, Chadstone used to absolute suck for food. Our choices were split between sushi, which is often a bit of a boring choice, and greasy, infested food court dives. Capital Kitchen still falls somewhat victim to Chadstone’s spell, but it serves very well as a relaxed break from the tires of shopping(oh, how hard shopping can be). My favourite item here is the tuna pillow. Firstly, what a fantastic name — who doesn’t want to eat tuna out of a pillow? Secondly, huge! Thirdly, delicious! If you’re not into tuna, they have a huge range of items that will suit even the fussiest of eaters. Their desserts, though baked offsite, look pretty rockin too. Coffee here is decent, it won’t make you orgasm but you probably don’t want to in the middle of a shopping centre. I hope Capital is the beginning of a much needed trend in good cafes at shopping centres!

Capital Kitchen is exactly what Chadstone was in need of. A hip and trendy café, that offers simple light and tasty food. Their café is quite large once you enter, though it manages to get pretty busy(especially weekends). The front of the café is very inviting as it is well decorated with white colours and old wood. There are also a few nonsensical household items for sale. Capital Kitchen offer a range of pastries, baked goods, sandwiches, salads and other basic café style items. The food here is good, but you mostly come here for its atmosphere. It’s lively, creative and really feels a world away from a commercial shopping center. I would probably come to Chadstone just to go to Capital Kitchen and not shop. I suggest ordering their calamari dish(very light and tasty), and the chocolate/coconut macaroon which is fist sized and only $ 3ish.
