I’ve found that Manly’s best eats and drinks are often tucked away off the heavily trodden tracks, and Izumi is no exception. Sure you can absolutely spoil yourself rotten with a $ 33 set hot pot, set lunch or set dinner menus(including miso soup, sushi & sashimi, gyoza, teriyaki chicken, tempura, ice cream* and a bottle of house wine if more that one person orders), but I always find myself in here for a late-lunch, post-beach, sushi-in-face-stuffing. The sashimi is especially fresh and even for someone who doesn’t often go for norimaki, the rainbow rolls are a must-order. With $ 3BYO, this traditional Japanese spot is a cheap and cheerful dinner date. Or a date for one. I won’t judge. *no, unfortunately not tempura ice cream, although that would certainly be a star-raising quality!
