Tiger prawn and mango salad was surprisingly good and filling. Overall good value for a busy part of town.

Excellent spot for a drink, lunch or dinner. The prices go from $ 10 special to $ 30 smic meal. Catch the Manly Ferry and turn right to the hotel wharf. On a sunny day, sitting under the umbrellas with Cajun Squid and a beer… it doesn’t get better than this. The patrons vary from young families to business types. I was in a group of 10 and all plates went back clean. Food was good! Watching the Collaroy or Queenscliff arrive will help with last drinks call.

Update! The pulled pork burger used to be really delicious, but it seems they’ve changed it recently and taken away the BBQ sauce — which in my humble, is what makes pulled pork the glorious thing it is — and replaced it with mayo and what I think was pâté. Not entirely unpleasant, but not something I’d ever order again and it’s certainly put me off bothering to go back. The chips have also become really average.

Manly Wharf Hotel is definitely a must do when in Manly. Located directly at the wharf you got great views. In addition drinks and foods are good and not too expensive.

Yes, it’s a bit soulless, a bit overpriced, and a bit crowded. But it’s big, with a variety of indoor and outdoor areas. It’s open and airy and painted white to make it feel light and spacious. It’s a very comfortable, relaxing, spot if you go outside of peak times(which are evenings and weekends). Location! It’s easy to get to, being in the ferry terminal, and has lots of spots — indoor and outdoor — looking out over the harbour. I was here on a recent Monday with my wife for some late-afternoon beers and it was really nice and refreshing.

The wharf hotel is great for a night out or a spot to eat. Great for a few drinks on a Sunday night but also really nice during the day for lunch. The pizza is great and on certain nights you can get one with a free drink. Definitely a great place to spend a summer afternoon!

Good food, good view, good drinks and good set up. All good. You won’t be let down. However if your coming here on the weekends don’t come starving or dehydrated because you will be waiting a little while to get served. It gets packed on a Sunday evening and honestly I have never seen so many beautiful people in one place… So if your looking to pick up, you better jazz yourself up before you come down on the weekends.

Located on the ferry terminal, and with outdoor seating on a pier, this pub affords what is probably the best views in Manly. Simply sitting outside, drinking a beer while overlooking Sydney Harbour simply can not be beating in this part of the city. Okay, there is a boat harbour near it, but that simply does not undermine the views that you get. Not surprising it is also a very popular pub, having a nightclub here as well. Mind you, you can’t take your beers from the pub out onto the Wharf, but that problem is solved by having a bar out on the Wharf. The only drawback was that when I went here the second time, while I was having a beer with my brother, it started to rain, meaning that everybody on the Wharf had to rush under one of the umbrellas.

It’s a fun place, large with multiple sections and a stunning view, and that’s where it ends. It’s your typical pub full of noisy people pretending to have a splendid time or maybe they actually are. But as I maybe belong to a slightly older generation now, I like the outdoors Wharf bar, which on a sunny day or warm evening is the perfect place to unwind. It’s casual, and fun if you can ignore the sticky floor. Their food is average, like how pub food is supposed to be, heavy and unimaginative, but then I never go to a pub for food unless it is some chips and schnitzel I am craving! The newly opened Chur Burgers serves pretty good burgers and milkshakes though, and I am told is exactly like it’s Surry Hills cousin. I will take your word for that!

I drifted to finally try the newest addition to the Wharfie — Chur Burger. I was a bit skeptical to see if it tasted as good as the Chur in Surry Hills, but I have to say I was quite impressed! The service was crap but the taste was just as delicious. The main perk was there was, wait for it… NOWAIT! No line out the door or fight for a table, just walk in, order and boom you’re eating :). I of course still prefer the fun vibe of the Surry Hills one more!

Way too crowded today for Mother’s Day. Menu looked alright but we opted for Chur Burger which shares the same kitchen. Unfortunately service today was below par, but the chips with chilli salt hit the spot, along with a house red from the bar. The chicken burger was ok, perhaps a bit lacking of flavour. Value for money and relatively quick service was beneficial on a pretty busy day for hospitality.

Update required after many more fruitless visits to this big soulless monstrosity that’s always packed. The wharf bit is still great but inside is purgatory. The coup de grace? Ordering a coffee at the bar. Being given one of those flashing ‘come back when your order is ready’ wands. Wait, what? You’re pouring that guy a beer. And the coffee machine is right there. Why can’t you make me a coffee? So I waited. And waited. And went back with my non-beeping wand to find out they’d forgotten to out the order through, rendering my wand little more than a cheap plastic paperweight. Ugh.

Good option for lunch in Manly near the water. Lots of options for food varying from salad, pizza, burgers, mains as fish and steak. Huge servings though so be prepared! It was pretty noisy and busy when we were there for Sunday lunch but understandable as it’s an institution in Manly. I had the fish with pumpkin risotto. It was a little too oily for my liking but nothing in couldn’t handle. Wouldn’t order it again though. The prawn mango salad my friend had looked much more tastier.

This bar is always packed. It’s a perfect little sun trap, and so convenient for everyone coming off the ferry. Whilst it’s kid friendly, it’s also super popular with the trendy crowd. Eye candy(both sexes) abounds, it’s a great place to people watch. Definitely a ‘thumbs up” from me.

Huge space. Or should I say spaces. Right on the harbour, good service, plenty of seating/standing room for hundreds. There’s a nice view, although I doubt many of the serious socializers and drinkers present on a late Saturday afternoon noticed. It’s right where the Sydney ferries come in, as well as where many boats load/unload passengers at the public dock. There is food, but I only participated in the beer selection. Seated along the water or standing at the bar picking up a beer, service is friendly and efficient. The location by the ferries in Manly no doubt accounts for this establishments popularity. That’s fine with me — good place. I should note I have eaten here before, but only for a quiet lunch a few years back. Nothing memorable about the food, but nothing wrong with it either. Again, location, location, location.

I guess you’re paying for the view here right? I paid $ 20 for fish and chips that would have cost me half the price anywhere else in Sydney. Everything looked to be a bit overpriced for my liking. And for a pub really? You want people to pay silly prices? No thanks. The only reason I stayed to eat was because I was outvoted by work mates who just wanted a bite to eat and you were there. The only reason this place got 2 stars was because the staff were lovely and the view was nice. That’s about it really.

Ahhhh, the Wharfie… If ever a bar was so perfectly situated and iconic in its sex appeal, it would have to be you. Located directly on Manly Wharf, the Wharf Bar lends itself to sensational summer sunsets had on its outside dock. The dock is huge, with tons of covered seating and a separate bar, which made for the perfect anniversary party this past weekend. Judging by its glorious location, you would assume that drinks would be outrageously priced and you’d have to bring a flask in just to conger up a decent buzz. But fear not! The price is no more than your average townie! Inside is open and flirtatious, boasting tons of windows and funky electronic tracks. We were there from early Saturday afternoon until late into the evening, and the only thing that seemed to grow short were the skirts on the ladies. Yes, the Wharfie becomes more provocative by the hour, but who doesn’t? And with the dock staying open throughout the night, there’s always an escape route. Our Saturday stakeout required food, and luckily they have a feel good pizza kitchen that sells overpriced pizzas for around $ 20. They’re small, but tasty, and I would highly recommend the prawn or the pumpkin! They also have a typical bar menu, and based on the wedges we had, the food was nothing to write home about. Summary: Head to the Wharfie on a weekend afternoon and sip down cider all the way until sunset!. and after then, too ;)

This might be a big call but overall this is my FAVOURITE drinking hole in Manly. If the sun is shining on a Sunday afternoon and you not here then, as Lara Bingle once said, where the bl**dy hell are you? The infamous Sunday session is on like donkey kong every Sunday… rain, hail or shine. The crowds may thin a little in the winter months but it is a guaranteed good scene all year round. Someway or somehow all the good looking, trendy young residents of the Northern Beaches wake up from their weekly hibernation and converge on the Wharfie on Sunday afternoons. My favourite locations would be the Jetty Bar or the deck just off the restaurant. These are excellent spots for checking out the scenery(aka hotties) and the ocean view ain’t bad either. The place has a good selection of ciders and beers plus a cocktail bar. I like the nachos, wedges and pizza too. Well, who doesn’t like those? Only downsides of Wharfie is that it is pretty noisy during a sports match and they have introduced pokies. But as the bar staff said, they need to turn a profit. This is also only of the only places in Manly that the dreaded 18s crowd has not managed to ruin. Overall, I love love love it!

Wharf bar is where you want to be for an afternoon Sunday Sesh in Manly. It’s right on the water(harbour-side). I love this place in the summer. When I lived in Manly I always promise myself I would only stay for a few, but once I showed up I would stay for a «few more.» It does get pretty crowded at times. It’s probably not a good pick on the weekend if you have a group that wants a table to sit down. My fave snack on the menu are the nachos. It’s a HUGE platter. Get them to share with 1 – 2 friends. Trust me.

«Wharfie» or Wharf Bar, as it is affectionately known, is arguably the original and the best. Situated on the stunning Manly wharf, the originally-titled Manly Wharf Hotel is a perfect spot to enjoy a vegetarian pizza for a sunny lunch(my pick of the extensive pizza menu), a Sunday afternoon game of pool or a Saturday night of watching the beautiful people. And beautiful they are — Wharf Bar’s clientele(and staff, for that matter) are predominantly young professionals and students, who are mostly blonde, tanned and scantily clad. The cast of Home and Away would not be out of place in this most typical of Northern Beaches establishments. Admittedly trendy, Wharf Bar manages to walk the fine line of being a hotspot without being pretentious. A reasonably-priced food and drinks menu, plus its longevity on the Manly bar scene dictates that everyone can feel ok here and enjoy the stunning views and good vibes. While the young and beautiful reign at night, grandparents enjoy a quiet glass of wine during the evening, tradies come for lunch and tourists filter in at all hours. These warm, fun-lovin’ vibes are maybe because of the hugeness of the place — far bigger than most bars, Wharf Bar’s white tiles streeeeetch for an unexpected distance. Maybe it’s because of it’s outlook on Sydney Harbour — it’s hard not to smile when you look out to the Heads. Maybe we can attribute it to the saying that is true of all of Manly«Seven miles from the city… One thousand miles from care.» It could be the reasonably-priced drinks and food, or it could be that it’s not the kind of place you feel you must drink to keep your sanity. The hotel always manages to take the extra step in making its clientele want to come back, whether it be for a special occasion such as the annual Cup Day party, or just another sunny afternoon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Unlike many Manly establishments, the Manly Wharf Hotel is always impeccable clean and always feels safe — fights do not start here.
