This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in Sydney. Yok Thai has a very creative twist on Thai food that is intermixed with their traditional dishes. They have now introduced some smaller tapas style dishes that are just incredible.
Two of us shared 2 tapas and a main which was the perfect amount.
The tapas were two of the chefs specials — popcorn shrimp on lettuce wraps with a spicy creamy Thai sauce and wontons with scallops pork belly and fresh Thai spices inside. These were both melt in your mouth incredible.
For our main we spilt the garlic and black pepper beef Wagyu tossed in a Wok with bean sprout and garlic chive. We mixed in a side of brown rice, but you really don’t need any rice with this dish.
This is a BYO, so we brought a light Chardonnay, Brooklyn’s valley verse 1 Margaret river for $ 14, which complimented our dishes nicely.
This would also be a great place for a big group on a warm night as they set up a long tables outside in the courtyard.

Spectacular Thai food.
Yok Thai Manly serves great versions of the Thai staples, but also expands beyond them with interesting and creative dishes. There are both small bites and larger plates, so (like most Thai food), it works very well for sharing.
We had two variants of a trout with caviar dish, one large and another that was meant as a mouthful. The small bite was more herbal but overall the larger version was the better dish (with fantastically crispy skin). The duck curry was excellent and the pad thai was OK (least favorite).
It truly was an excellent meal, so strongly recommended if you’re in the area.

I have not been here for a while and the new décor and furnishings make this establishment more appealing than before.
The food is staple Thai with a few of the wow dishes that Thai restaurants are now known for. I had Pad Thai with a side of soft shell Crab. My partner had Peking Duck Noodle. Both dishes were fresh tasty and nicely presented.
This place serves up consistent Thai. Come here to enjoy a relaxed approach to Thai food experience.
