Absolutely disgusting!!! So disappointed in these people. This morning, 24^th of October 2014, there was a small deceased furry animal on the corner of Hampstead & Romilly Ave (literally ¹⁵⁄₂₀ meters from your door) — I was unable to tell if it was a cat or a small dog. Clearly it had been hit by a car and left to die and then other traffic had (hopefully) unintentionally run over it further. So there was no chance of saving this little soul. Anyways, I drove past the deceased at approximately 8am, with my 6 year old and 6 month old baby screaming in the car, shocked and upset by what I saw, i did not stop. After dropping the eldest to school, we travelled back past the scene where nothing had changed, by this time my newborn was asleep and so I decided to stop at your surgery and inform you guys, thinking at least if you guys didn’t know, you may just take the time to go outside and put this poor soul into a box in hope a owner may be found and the remains could be handed to them and this poor little creature could rest in peace. When I entered, your vet nurse/​receptionist was there behind the counter. I introduced myself and stated there had been an animal hit right out the front, and all your counter help could say was «yes we know, the council has been called». I was taken back by this?! Surely your business is to help animals!!! Clearly this little one couldn’t be saved, but at least closure would have been gained in some kind of dignified way if the little one could have been collected from the busy road before further damage was done to the little body!!! I asked if the counter help if she knew if the animal was microchipped or had a collar and she answered «Narh, we will just wait for council to tell us» — again I was shocked!!! You hadn’t even been out there to look? I mean come on??? This is potentially one of your customers loved ones and you can’t even be bother to look??? I then offered to pick up the little one, if she could provide me with a box or towel — to which again she replied, «no it’s fine, we will just let council know again»
This poor little soul is now continuing to suffer out of your staffs ignorance and laziness. It’s seriously beyond me as to why if you work with animals and your in the game of helping and fixing them, this poor little one has been left to be further destroyed RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR PLACE OF BUSINESS!!!
Shame on you Pet Universe! You disgust me, and never ever will I take my fur babies or recommend you to anyone I know!!!
