I’m with Gabriel, the range of pointy, plain leather shoes here are best reserved for old Italian guys. They look really good on them. For a twenty something Australian man like my husband, ummmm no. Batsanis is one of those shoe shops for men that rely on a name that was once the forerunner in stylish, on trend men’s shoes. Now, clinging to that good name they stock ridiculously expensive shoes that, yeah, are leather therefore great quality, but are still looking like they might have late 80’s, early 90’s. Even with leather, even with men’s shoes, you can change it up a bit. And although leather isn’t cheap, most stores don’t charge QUITE that much, particularly when the shoes are out of date.

Ok I’ll admit it. The only reason I got drawn into this store is because of the name. Batman and sarnies are after all my two favourite things! So I was a little disappointed to find a shop full of pointy leather shoes to found worn only on the feet of middle aged Italian men. But then I realized that I did have a cocktail party to go to in a few weeks and was probably not welcome to wear my usual array of skate shoes and ugg boots. So with the tune of na nah nah na na nah na nah, na nah na nah still going through my head I thought I better look further. They actually do stock a good range of leather(pointy toed) shoes. And while they are not exactly cheap — they are not massively expensive either. I never did find the shoe for me. But that is to be expected of one living the hard life of superhero martyrdom. The sandwich I had at LA’s sandwich works after, was pretty satisfying though.
