I’ve been a regular at this café on and off for over 12 months, the coffee is good, 4 stars for that. Generally the food is good, probably about 3.5 stars for that. The paleo-inspired fare is great, breakfasts are generally delicious, the wraps and bagels above average and I like the ambience the dark wood and quirky lights create. The specials are also worth looking at. Most importantly Jerry greets and speaks to me by name each time I come in, and that’s important. The rest of the staff are also courteous and attentive. I love coming in of a morning, getting my coffee and doing the puzzles in the paper. It’s a winner.

Another one of my regular spots, I’ve known Jerry for a few years now and always a pleasure to see him. He asks how you’ve been and has a bit of a chat. Such a friendly environment and you can tell that when almost every second customer is greeted by name. Not quite your polished hipster looking place, it’s very laid back, dark wood and a few quirky lights. They have some really nice food, mostly your standard café stuff but done really well. Lots of rolls, bagels and wraps during the week as well as the sit down menu. Coffee rotates through roasters, usually Small Batch, Code Black, Market Lane, Proud Mary. Sometimes he has a single from interstate. Tea is Somage Or Storm in a teacup. They also have a small selection of beer and wine ;-) The only issue I have is the coffee is a bit inconsistent. Some days its amazing, some days it ok, but that’s fine.

A nice little café open in a Sunday morning. It’s located a few doors down from the Sheraton Hotel in Little Collins street. I must admit to feeling a little under the weather so didn’t really go nuts with the breakfast fare. I can tell you the coffee was quite strong. They waitstaff were very nice Even though it was quite busy our meals did arrive quite quickly. They also allowed me to order off menu. My sour dough toast was very delicious so was the lavish amount of avocado. I was happy. I was also a little disappointed that I wasn’t feeling up to anything more exciting because my friends breakfasts looks so delicious! I’d recommend this café and I’d visit again. Only thing I wasn’t quite satisfied with was having to wait to use the one female bathroom and being led their by the waitress, out of the café to an external doorway that she unlocked. Hhmm.

Nice to have wifi here, and really super friendly staff. But unlike the great mellow coffee we had on our journey thruout AUS, the coffee here is a bit bitter. Didn’t eat here, was looking for beans to take home and only came to try the coffee…

Rotating blend of beans which makes for an interesting drink selection at times. At the top price scale for basic milk coffee. $ 4.50 despite the byo cup. Which is interesting considering the shop next door is $ 4.20. I only ordered coffee on my way to work here but noticed that the staff were friendly to all customers. They knew their regulars well, remembering names and coffee orders. Interesting there are a LOT of paleo inspired snacks here. At paleo prices too! I didn’t grab any as I was food-kitted up for the day, but would happily have grabbed a mid morning snack from their range.

The staff are really friendly here. It’s a lovely change from some places who consistently stay in Parisian(stuck up) character, being in the Paris end of town. Coffee has always been good, I like there’s a table to sit at and wait for your takeaway and have a quick flick through the tabloids, and although I’d normally steer away from anything bagel, the ones here taste great and there’s a good range.

Ok, the seating is a little cramped during lunch hour, but the food is worth the discomfort. Lots of organic ingredients like bread & meats, free range chicken and, most importantly, all sweats and snacks are made in house. This makes an awesome change from the factory produced slices that are sold at most city cafes. I had the lemon slice which was melt in your mouth zesty yum — and prompted me to write this review. Go there for the sweets alone ;-)
