Despicable experience! The roti was more burnt than cooked and the curry was floating in moat of oil. To top it off — rude service(I asked for the nearest railway station and was subject to a cold stare followed by «it is a busy time now» — I was the only one at the counter!) The worst part? — came home to find that it was not what I had ordered! I’m vegetarian, but what I got was some chicken curry. This is a unacceptable. What a joke of an Indian«restaurant», total BS. I’d rather go hungry than eat here again.

I came in the evening around dinner time, and ordered one of their special deals which seemed quite good value for money. However, the lady who served me seemed very disinterested/tired, and didn’t explain things properly. There wasn’t much left in the bain-maries as it was late, so I ordered a butter chicken as one of my selections. She said something which I didn’t quite catch on, and proceeded to ladle the butter chicken onto BOTH sides of the container. I didn’t realise she had given me two serves of it, so I wasn’t able to select another. Not sure why she did that, but I decided to just deal with it since I didn’t mind butter chicken. Got home, turns out there were only 2 small pieces of chicken, and the rest was just sauce. This certainly seems like a lunch type of place, don’t go for dinner/late takeway.

I am normally not too keen on Indian food, yet their chicken curry, naan and pappadums are worth purchasing and a visit to this cute take away outlet on Bourke Street near Bourke Street Mall. This is where it is actually a good idea to be adventurous and to have an open mind. The staff are just too polite, and this establishment heads down represents great value for money. Also their vegetarian curries(four in total; their malai kofta is supreme) are fantastic and full of fresh, healthy flavours. The servings look more generous(having observed them) when eating in, although this place is a little too small to have tables and chairs; although it is great that guests have the option of dining in or taking away. A couple of their plates appear to be chipped which was a bit of a turn off for eating in despite the generous serving sizes. If you are the type who is fond of Indian Food; you would make this establishment your next lunch destination if you frequent the city; otherwise you are the«I don’t like Indian Food too much» type of person like me; at least give this establishment a go to appreciate quality food; do it — at least once.
