This seems to be the local that I go to for my daily coffee, both having there and also take away. The coffee is fine, it gets me through the day. The cabinet in the front have some displays of goodies and the muffins and brownies really caught my eye but I have not tried it yet. Maybe on my chat day! :)

Love this café! The coffee is really good, the staff friendly, the pastries are to die for, and the breakfast clean, simple, and delicious. Truly is a great café.

Very nice. Pleasant décor and comfortable environment. Stumbled on this place by chance for a late lunch with a friend. It was ideal. Not to loud or rushed. Fresh, tasty meals, attentive staff, and good coffee. We will certainly be returning.

Decoy loves its coffee. Decoy wants you to love its coffee. So much so that if you visit the webpage(or ask anyone in the place) they tell you all about it. In house roasting is one of the big trends in the more serious players in Melbourne’s café culture. It allows far more control over the beans and the grind(and far more responsibility for the outcome). Having worked behind the coffee machine for several years I can assure you that not having good beans can be incredibly frustrating for barista and customer alike. Freshly roasted, really, truly, fresh beans is amazing to work with. As you would expect with this level of dedication, the coffee is good. I haven’t tried any of the food, having only gone in for a coffee and a catch-up with a friend I ran into. Decoy also calls itself an Art House. This is because of the gallery. It’s pretty good, nothing spectacular. Coffee!

Hello and welcome to 1997! A visit to Decoy Café and Gallery is like stepping back to an time when maroon was all the rage and heavy masculine dining chairs were the epitome of chic. Okay, that’s enough of my bitchiness. The crew at Decoy roast their own coffee beans and they do make a pretty decent cup. The downside, however, is the food, which I found average. I had breakfast here and was only after toast, but I didn’t really like the bread — it was a bit sweet and didn’t have a crunchy crust. The service was really nice and I’d happily do a take-away coffee in future, but couldn’t bring myself to sit in that interior again…
