OK. So. You know how you get towards the more Asian side of town, where there’s a lot of stores that sell not just fashion-y items like dresses and shoes, but plush toys of Nintendo characters for no real explanation or connection? This is one of those stores. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying I don’t understand it. But you know what, diversity is a wonderful thing. So, let’s side step Yoshi for a second and look at the clothes. It would be a good place to drop in if you need a new thing but don’t want to spend an enormous amount of money. There are some fun party dresses and skirts, all generally around $ 50 for dresses and $ 30 for skirts and tops. They have some nice prints and the staff member was lovely and very helpful. There were also a few flat shoes to slide your feet into. Synthetic mostly. The toys were about $ 30 and they were soft and cuddly. That I can guarantee. So if you need both, Duchess is a fantastic place to kill two birds(from very different tress) with one stone.

Another one of my fave places to splurge in Melbourne Central is Duchess. Royal sounding name, extravagant looking designs at not bad prices, considering the quality, fabrics and style. Stocking what’s hot on the Harajuku scene in Japan; it’s lace, frills, high-fashion, bohemian styles at their very best. Duchess also stock an awesome range of killer heels and pretty, pretty shoes and accessories. Styles are feminine, stylish and elegant, which I guess is where the name comes from. It’s slightly more expensive here then Pink or Phoebe Angel, but so definitely worth at least some window shopping time. Regular sales that are well worth a visit also.
