Quick, cheap, tasty. Es Teler 77 is an Indonesian franchise. This place is very similar to the franchise you might find if you’re walking around Jakarta, down to the spare room upstairs that I’m sure someone sleeps in between their double shift. Watch out though, they are spicy. Don’t try to impress your date, she won’t like all that snort dripping down your face. When in doubt just ask for mild, you can always add the chilli on top.

Cheap, fast food that’s at least something different to just having the same old dumplings. But good god is the food hot here. Well it is for me, but not so bad for the average person I think. I could still taste all the flavour in the crisp, moist, fried chicken rice, but dipping it into the chilli paste was a very bad idea. The soup that came with it wasn’t too bad, and had a thick texture to it. Overall not bad, except for the chilli.

Es Teller77 is a cheap, fast and casual Indonesian restaurant, specialising in spicy noodle dishes and some very extravagant looking deserts. A main meal is around $ 13 for a generous serving. The food is big on flavour! The restaurant has very basic décor with brightly painted walls and cafeteria-styled seating. Most dishes are on the spicy side, so beware: when they ask how hot you want your food, Medium(for me at least) means HOT.
