Specialties
Unpretentious, quality food and service. Basically, we like to serve our customers the meals we prepare for our friends at home. Come in and try our Texan baked eggs, pulled pork soft tacos, burgers (wagyu beef, satay chicken or roast beetroot and blackbean vegetarian), our daily soups and our range of house-made sweets. Our home-made Snickers bar has quite a following.
History
Established in 2013.
Why is it called Grumpy & The Dreaded One’s Little Café of Awesome? Well…
Lee had been writing a humour column for many years under the name of Grumpy. His long suffering partner, Ann (The chef whose food you’ll be enjoying) featured frequently in the Grumpy stories as The Dreaded One, due to her bright dreadlocks. Copies of the columns can be read at the back of the menus.
Both Grumpy and The Dreaded One have extensive backgrounds in hospitality and catering and thought it was about time they combined their experience to do it for themselves. The name of the café was a no-brainer.
