Melbourne’s famous for its iconic and beautiful laneways and Hardware Lane is no exception. I remember first really seeing it in all its glory around the Christmas season. I was in the city with some friends while at the same time, I was ultra excited to go on my vacation to the glorious UK. Seeing Hardware Lane’s beautiful décor, lovely lighting, amazing restaurants, and magnificent Christmas decorations singlehandedly made me want to stay in Melbourne just for a little bit longer. Atmosphere: Hardware Lane has a great buzz, especially at night when everyone’s chattering at dinner time and there are warm oil lamps along the street. In fact, I think hat Hardware Lane has a better ambiance than Degraves Street, even though it’s far more well known. If you’re touring Melbourne, I wouldn’t skip over Hardware Lane. Even if you don’t plan on chowing down at some of the restaurants, I recommend a stroll regardless.
