Jolie & Deen

Passing by Jolie & Deen you can tell this clothing store is minimalistic, modern and classy, and I love it! Their clothing is cute but what drew me is their jewelry, I adore their creativity and selection they have. From statement jewelry to necklaces or bracelets for stacking, this place has what you’re looking for and at a great price. Even when their new season stuff are out, the older season are still out on sale, and it’s very affordable. Customer service is very friendly.

This store is open and light. I suppose it’s meant to inspire the idea of open, fresh, light and modern clothes. Jolie and Deen have a nice collection of everything and it is fresh and modern. The jewellery is nice and light too.
There are some nice cuts, nice clothes and lots of things gawk at. It’s all priced around the $ 100/​$ 200 mark for dresses and $ 80 for tops.
The jewellery is sort of cheap, I’m assuming from touching it that it wasn’t all real silver.
It’s a pretty big shop and there’s a lot there to select from. The unfortunate thing is it’s not cheap but I’m always more willing to spend a little bit more for something that’s new and modern than for ten dollars less getting some kind of ‘vintage’ Katies dress.
A good selection but in all I wasn’t blown out of the water.

I love Aussies making a go of it and causing a stir on the big scene of high-​end fashion. And the Aussie label Jolie and Deen is certainly doing that.
But unfortunately they just don’t hit the spot for me. Granted, I’m a young married mum with two kids, so I have responsibilities that don’t allow big $ spending on luxury items very often. But I’m not a complete cheapskate, and I do splurge (often not even meaning to!) every once in a while. Jolie and Deen is one of the places I wouldn’t.
Their stuff is lovely, I’ve seen a couple of just gorgeous casual, classy tops and singlets this season. But $ 89 — $ 100 for a casual, or even dressy top or singlet isn’t just extravagant, its completely unnecessary. They may be el-​cheapo but Valley Girl just up from here is selling similar designs and styles for at least half the price.
If I were a rich girl, na-​na-​na-​na-​na, I would definitely shop here. It’s an Aussie label, designs are unique and clothing of high quality and beautiful. Truth is, labels this upmarket and this good just aren’t in my usual price bracket. And I am not their usual customer. So what I’m saying is, you’ll love it if you shop in this range, otherwise you’ll probably leave empty handed.

The first thing that draws you into Jolie & Deen’s Melbourne Central store is its riotously colourful clothing rails. The second? This nascent Aussie label’s beautiful jewellery, followed by the quite sudden realisation that all of Jolie & Deen’s clothes are so ridiculously small that you’re unlikely to fit into them unless you happen to be all of half a sample size and/​or have had a couple of ribs removed.
Still in its infancy as a label, Australian favourite Jolie & Deen’s clothes are beautiful, with an emphasis on quality fabrics — think silk, cotton lace and leather — in beautiful patterns and exceptional cuts. And the most surprising thing of all? The prices are actually kind of reasonable.
Where Jolie & Deen really excels though is in its incredible colour palette. I’m serious when I say that outside of documentaries about the Holi Festival — the Indian Festival of Colour — I’ve never seen this many hues assembled in one place. Think emerald green, think azure blue, think magenta, ochre and more, Jolie & Deen’s clothes are notable for their sublimely saturated colours.
The store itself is modern and classy with one wall dedicated entirely to Jolie & Deen’s beautiful silver and gold jewellery in a mixture of graphic and floral prints and ostentatious and and minimalist shapes.
The one downside, as I’ve mentioned is the sizing which is wont to scare all but Jolie & Deen’s lithest fans away. Remedy this and Jolie & Deen would be perfect. But for now, there’s always window shopping. And one size fits all earrings.
