I’ve started seeing these places appear around Melbourne, though what first caught my attention was the truck sitting opposite the Catherdral on Federation Square. Since I’ve developed an appreciation for a real burger I decided that I would go and check this place out one Sunday afternoon and I have to say that the burger wasn’t bad at all. Okay, it is a little more expensive than the fast food restaurants, however it wasn’t that much more($ 10.00 for a basic burger), and it came pretty quickly as well. Mind you, this is a food truck, which means that they only do take-away food, but since it is located in Fed Square then there are a few places where you can sit down and munch on your meal.

While not challenging for ‘best burger in Melbourne’ in my mind(a contentious debate which rages on in many pubs around town) Mr Burger is still a favourite and I do an inner-high-five whenever I happen upon their truck with some hunger in my belly. Hasn’t disappointed me yet.

After visiting the NGV, I am dying to have lunch but I didn’t want overpriced crap that NGV have on offer. Thankfully Mr burger truck was just outside so I ordered the Mr Burger($ 10). It didn’t take too long to be ready and I hungrily chowder it down. The things I love about Mr Burger is their brioche bun was oh-so-soft and buttery. Their meat patties have a lovely chargrilled flavour and the salad inside was fresh. I felt that their patties are wayyyy too salty this time though and left me feeling like I needed to gulp down a litre of water afterwards. Go easy on the salt and Mr Burger could easily be my best friend!

Mr Burger just pips beatbox for me. It’s slightly cheaper($ 13 for small chips & a single Mr Burger, although I’d go the double next time!), and the burger itself is nicer. Only just. Think Shake Shack, for those that have been to NY. If you haven’t, just trust me. I’m normally more of a fries girl, than chips, but these are good. Word is the trucker chips are the bomb, but I’ve yet to partake. Fun Fact — we had them in at work for #foodtruckfriday. They’ve got quite a few trucks by the looks of it, so what are you waiting for — go truck finding!

Love these guys, best burgers around! Yummy! and they are now popping up all over the place. I first discovered these guys tucked round the back of Victoria Market hidden in a shed down an alley and now they have about 8 vans across Melbourne. I always tell my friends to look out for these cream and orange vans. Only down side obviously is as there are a van there is often nowhere to sit down and eat but that is to be expected like i say as they are a mobile food outlet. Would love it if they were to open up a restaurant somewhere, they would soon put Maccy´s out of business

Parked by Edinburgh Gardens the other day and grabbed a burger from here. Lazy day, burger through the park. Pretty good. Nothing standout about the burger. That’s all a burger has to be for me! Was fresh and well cooked. Staff inside the van were happy to chat as they worked and pretty cruisey all round. Burger at $ 11 was priced fairly well. Would revisit if I stumbled across it following a boozey night.
