The pictures posted do not show the bad layout that a lot of rooms had. okay rooms, no windows to open… but whats with the ensuite right and I mean right next to bed. The en suite had sliding doors with about a foot between the bed and just otherside of door the loo’ now not to go into detail but Il turn tap on if the bed is other side of room but come on Oaks on collins this close. I’m a ladeeee’…our sink and shower overflowed and cant fault the maintenance man as who would want to fish out what looked like something from the GRUDGE ”’ why arent these things checked it was eeeew’ …Then there was the settee which faced the kitchenette? which meant you need to be like the exorcist to turn your neck to see the tele, so we had to rearrange the room!!! Reception staff good just layout if room rubbish…

Ok, I had to write one although I stayed here a week ago and I just had a little chat with the reception. See this didn’t happen once or twice but every time I get in touch with them. You’re literally dealing with a 10 years old with a new iPad, oh wait! at least a 10 years old know how it’s functioning. Bad reception staff incase you didn’t predict so far. I lived in oaks for almost a year in Brisbane so I know how professional this brand represent it self. But this building, oh my god! So I called to check the fixed rate for a long term stay and the guy argued that there is none and they have to charge me each week a different rate. Claiming this is what he can see from the website. If you ask me, when you call to make a reservation for a long term call the reservation line at office hours for a long term booking, and for a short one speak to Maggie, she is one of those people that actually has a brain and use it plus she knows what is the value of a consumer. Oaks hotel, if you can read this. Invest in human resources training program’s, or emphasis on costumer service experience when you’re recruiting. your poorly picked staff is loosing costumers and costing you money! cheers.

I like the self catering aspect. Friendly staff. Good location — I walked from sky bus drop off spot– and into town, queen Vic markets etc. place is a little run down tho– hole in sheet etc. Was here for 3 nights place didn’t get cleaned and I was sure where to throw rubbish. Also room I was in might have been better for 1 –bathroom right next to bed. Internet is only free for first half hour them really expensive. Definitely ok

If all you require is a room for the night this place works. Did not eat here as there is a far better selection outside of the hotel to enjoy.

More like serviced apartments than a hotel, mixed feelings about my stay here. The rooms are large with a pokey en-suite, but no windows(at least the rooms I had)! Feels strange not having a window, and the air conditioning becomes fairly essential. Wardrobe space is small, but reasonable kitchen facilities are provided for cooking with oven, hotplate and dishwasher, but no washing machine. Gym facilities are average, and the«pool» is filled with ice water. On the plus side, the rooms are very quiet(no traffic noise) and the service seems OK. I chose this for the special prices, which was significantly cheaper than other comparable hotels. On the whole, not bad if you are out working during the day, but I would not stay here again if I had to spend more time in the room without windows.
