The location of the Pullman is between Prahran and St Kilda and next to Albert Park. The hotel looks to have been recently refurbished and has the regular Pullman look. We had a bit of a muck up with the reservation with was disappointing and tainted the experience a bit.

I’ve been on a conference organising team that have been hosted at the Pullman Albert Park the last 5 years and each year, the place gets better and better. They have recently had a refurb and the interiors really quite modern. Each room has plenty of power sockets, perfect for the working traveller with multiple devices to charge. Bathrooms have been fitted with rain showers, but the taps are set too close to the edge, so you cannot fit both hands under the running water. The hotel breakfast is average, but sustains when you’re on the go-go-go. Location is convenient with access to trams to the city & St Kilda.

What happens when your hot water is off for 4 days in a row? You end up at a hotel! This one has a big lobby with a nice lobby bar. The bellman were good with vallet parking and helping us with our bags. Check in was quick and courteous. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was ok. I ordered room service as hubby had cricket and I was looking after my little one. The BLT was tasty and came within 15 minutes. The room was $ 105 which we thought was good value.

Let’s be honest with each other? I was staying in the Mercure tower of this hotel and it’s yet to undergo the fancy renos that the photos show me the Pullman side of the hotel has had the luxury of undergoing. But when I say, «It’s a Mercure» I hope you understand this translates to «solid option, fuss-free, respectable business travel hotel» Needing a place to rest my head while working at the Taste of Melbourne festival, I’d selected this hotel for its proximity and affordability. It isn’t five stars and it doesn’t pretend to be. My stay has been without complication, and I’ve slept soundly each night — the bed surprisingly comfy. The pillows, while not my ideal pillow, rate well for a hotel pillow(hey! I’m allowed my own pet peeves and bad pillows are one). Plus it’s still walking distance(under 5 mins) to trams and a leisurely 20min stroll to Prahran and Chapel St. A thumbs up for me!

I came here for a rather large function last night and was quite impressed with the place. I think we had about 700 people attending and one huge hall to facilitate them all. It was a little cozy but we still had enough room to get up, stretch our legs and have a few chats to others. There were the usual three courses, beginning with a very nice turkey dish with some kinda sauce on it. I’m no foodie, I just know it tasted amazing. For dinner, we had either steak or salmon. I kinda wanted both but ended up having the salmon. Again, this was very nice and went down a treat. I wish I could have had seconds it was that good. Maybe next time. Desert was a little simpler with just a selection of slices and miniature cakes. The venue did a great job at presentation. There were two huge screens to show videos and a great sound system that covered every inch of the room with great quality. The chandeliers even changed colour. Great place, The Pullman.

Fantastic refurbished hotel, now The Pullman, friendly staff, beautifully appointed rooms. The gym & pool are good, the executive lounge is great although I will comment that I don’t believe children under 12(crying babies) are what an executive lounge is for. There is a bar & restaurant on site. The food was tasty & fresh too. Worth a visit.

We stayed here last weekend using a wotif secret deal. For $ 99, I was very happy. I’m note sure I would have paid the full wotif rate for our room which was $ 189. The reception staff were lovely. The woman we dealt with was very friendly, and even gave us a room upgrade as it was our anniversary. The room was nice. It was clean, and quiet. I’m not sure what the room would have been like prior to this ‘upgrade’ though. We had a lake view room, as our room was facing Albert Park Lake. What it really was though was a road view room with a tiny peak of the lake(we were on the fourth floor). In the morning, the housekeeping staff knocked on our door a total of 4 times between 9 – 11. Our check-out was arranged for 11:30. Overall, our stay was perfectly adequate for the $ 99, but I’m not sure I would have been as happy paying the full price.
