Pulp Club

Hard to get a great read on this place, as it’s a club come night-​time, and a bar during the afternoon and early evenings, which was when we popped in. We were on the hunt for Berlin Bar, which is upstairs, but we’re always fans of doing a bit of a bar-​crawl within the one building when the opportunity arises, so we enjoyed a drink here first.
The place is pretty dark — black walls, very dimly lit — you definitely get the idea they’re going for something that’s purposefully a bit seedy, but this is countered with their gimmick: juices. Think of it like an alcoholic Boost, where you pick your base juice and then what type and how much booze you want to add to it. They sounded pretty good, but we weren’t in a juice mood so we just grabbed a couple of beers.
The bartender was a friendly Frenchman who was super excited that we had selected the new Belgian and German bottled beer he himself had got added to the menu, and there was also some nice ones on tap that he let us sample before we made our decision.
Can’t vouch for what this place or the crowd is like at 1am on a Saturday, but we enjoyed our mid-​week afternoon pop-​in.
