Clean and gorgeous rooms! Downside is the lifts break down and we were there for a work function so we are talking 150 people to get back to their rooms… Breakfast — quite a good selection Courteous staff as well

Great location, very nice upgraded rooms, attentive service. This is a great hotel. There are a couple issues I still had. 1. The ground floor(not the lobby) smelled like actual poop/feces for 1 of the days I was there. It lasted for 24 hours, it was nasty. 2. The breakfast and buffet were subpar compared to the quality and selection at other starwood hotels on the same trip Beautiful rooms, I was very impressed!

Ok so I’m updating the review of the Sheraton because as a result of a feedback survey I was sent by them, which I answered honestly, I was offered a complementary breakfast for two in the restaurant.(The offer was NOT a result of my initial Unilocal review) Management said they wanted an opportunity to redeem the initial impression I had of staff service. I must say all staff were extremely friendly and attentive to us during breakfast. I was very impressed. I’m still not sure I would stay here again but I must say I was impressed that they went to such trouble of trying to win me back. So Thank you Sheraton Melbourne.

We booked in at the Sheraton for a special occasion, 4 ladies wanting to share 1 special birthday for just one night… As we live in Melbourne, the stay in the hotel was part of the celebration, not just somewhere to sleep. We specifically requested 2 adjoining rooms when the booking was made and were assured this would not be a problem. At checkin, we were offered 2 rooms on different floors and to cut a very long story short, after many calls from the one room we checked into, and after being told our request was not possible, we were finally given 2 adjoining rooms on the 11th floor, but only after a wait of 1hr and 50 minutes. The rooms themselves were an average size, well fitted out and with comfortable beds and amenities. But the service from all staff was slow and there seemed to be no communication between anyone in trying to solve our issue. Granted, if we had booked one room, we probably would have checked in easily and had a seamless stay, but the real test of a hotel is how they deal with a problem. I’m sorry, but I won’t be staying here again, or recommending this hotel. There are many better hotels in Melbourne in this price category.

It’s a boutique sheraton so no Club Lounge. But this place doesn’t need it. Best sheraton I’ve stayed at. As a Platinum member I was well taken care of. Great rooms, great location for me.

Great hotel! Rooms are fresh very clean and modern. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom is sleek. Hotel staff are kind, informative and very attentive. After a big night out drinking room service even made us a whole bunch of drunken food requests not listen on the menu. Close to great bars and restaurants! Only criticism is the $ 8 delivery charge per order for room service… isn’t that already included in the high price markup? Otherwise this hotel is a winner!

I was booked here for 6 days by my employer when we were in town for a job at Crown Casino. We usually stay there, but I guess they were booked. Sheraton is definitely a nice upscale hotel, but they had some serious customer services issues. After traveling all the way from the US(and missing a flight in the process), I just wanted to check my email and go to bed. But the front desk screwed something up on my reservation, so I couldn’t get online. Easy fix? Nope, it took 4 or 5 calls to downstairs and about 20 minutes of my time to get them to click whatever button they forgot to click. They apologized a lot for their error, but it was a really frustrating start to my stay. Then the next day, they completely forgot my wake up call. Made me late to work. I spend half of my life in hotel rooms and can only remember once other instance where a wake up call was forgotten. Completely unacceptable. No surprise that this hotel is not using a computerized wake up call, so it was human error for the second time here. Also, when I’m being woken up in the morning, the last thing I want to do is chat with a stranger. I hate non-computerized wake up calls. Lastly, I’m Starwood Gold and got a complimentary gift upon check in. I already had free Internet so I got a coupon for two free drinks. The check in agent Ben told me all about the great bar on the 3rd floor and said it would be good on the weekend. Went up to check it out and it’s under renovation and hasn’t been open for my entire stay. The other place to redeem the voucher is at the restaurant, which closes at 10:30pm. So 3 big negatives for me during my stay. The staff has been very nice and the rooms are amazing, though. I’ve never seen a french press in a hotel room before, and it was a delight making the complimentary Vittoria Coffee every day in my room. But they seriously need an overhaul in how to handle upscale customer service, because they’re really missing the mark here. If I was paying for this stay out of my own pocket, I’d expect one of my nights to be comped for all of this hassle.

Pretty tough critic to review opening night… But pleased to see a second Starwood property in Melbourne finally! Tucked in Ltl Collins, just off Spring Strreet(it’s a one way street so take note to enter via Spring St). This brand new hotel is not a rebadged old hotel but a brand new one with the classic Sweet Sleeper beds one attributes to the Sheraton brand. but with a little of the modern funkiness trademark of Starwood’s W brand of hotels. Great views over the Windsor hotel from 10th floor corner mini suite with floor to ceiling windows. Massive TV screen spoils the view a bit but beautifully appointed hotel. New staff enthusiastic… Will definitely return soon. Ps… Great Spanish food close by… In fact lots of great Melbourne food institutions close by… Check them out on Unilocal
