There’s loads of these sushi counters all over Melbourne these days and a lot of them can be below par, but Sushi Sushi seems to get it right. When it comes to fast food that I can eat on the go, there’s nothing better than a couple of handrolls and some soy sauce. The fact that the cost of this is usually less than $ 5 is a bonus. Sushi Sushi’s handrolls are fresh, nicely rolled and the rice isn’t too sweet as I often find it is at other sushi-on-the-go places. There’s a pretty nice eat-in area too, which is always full at lunchtime, but any other time it’s a great spot to take a quick break for some sushi and a green tea.

I eat a lot of sushi. I’ve tried a lot of sushi. And let me tell you, Sushi Sushi has it good. It’s located on the ground floor of Melbourne Central, and has a wooden décor to liven things up. You can eat in, there’s some small seating arrangements around the venue, or you could do what most do and get it take-away. It’s marketed as being quick, delicious and fresh — Sushi Sushi delivers on all three. The sushi and other japanese cuisine are superb, almost restaurant quality(To be honest, this beats a few Japanese places i have eaten out at).

You really cannot get more of a convenient grab-and-go than this. Sushi Sushi does well snatching up this very great location being right next to the train station at Melbourne Central. If you’re in a rush, it’ll take about a minute max to pick up your meal(depending on how indecisive you are, of course). Customer Service: Since working next to a train station, these employees definitely understand efficiency. They’re quick, yet friendly, and understand that you may be running late. Food: Sushi Sushi is somewhat an inconsistent chain. They seem to be either fantastic, or sub-par. I am pleased to say that this particular Sushi Sushi does it right. I assume with the high turnover, the food is always fresh and delicious. I don’t think that you’ll be picking up a sushi roll that has been sitting there for ages. You can’t really ask for more when it comes to a convenient sushi takeaway. I applaud the employees for taking care of all the busy bees surrounding the train station by filling our bellies with yummy and cheap food that doesn’t come with a long wait time.
