Apart from the Hostess/Waitress acting like she was running an empty Studio 54, it was okay. Nothing to write home about.

After having such a bad experience at the Bourke Mall location I tried Melb Central. Service at this location is awesome! Within 2 minutes a server came to my table to take order, she was pleasant when I had a question about the menu. Food delivered promptly, a little salty for me, cash out easy. Will certainly be back!

Great food from the pancake parlour chain as always but staff in this particular location is awful!

I’ve been going through a pancake frenzy recently, so have made several visits to the Pancake Parlour for the $ 16 student special, with a like-minded friend. My friend got the salted caramel pancake, which looks(and I’m told, tastes) amazing. Sadly, they don’t do the salted caramel on the buckwheat pancake(the gluten free option). On another visit she enjoyed the cheese and potato pancake, which she also raved about. So, for the non-glutards, those come recommended. For me, I stuck with the regular stack. I wish they’d have more of their pancakes available on buckwheat, because they do a fantastic buckwheat pancake. The PP is a bit pricey for me, but I come here because they do amazing pancakes, and you can’t get around that. One time, I was feeling very daring, and went for the deluxe fries instead of a pancake. They are more wedges than fries(not a complaint) and come with cheese, bacon, sour cream and spring onions. And they’re totally delicious, and more than I could comfortably eat on my own. Not that this stopped me. The service at the Melbourne Central pancake offer varies, but in general it’s fine — they get the job done. Great pancakes, apparently, can’t be rushed. The student meals come with a coffee or basic drink. Their coffee is nothing exciting, but it hits the caffeine spot and is easy to drink. $ 16 feels like a lot, especially to students, however it’s a good way to enjoy the Pancake Parlour, if you happen to have a student card on you. The other good way is to keep your eyes out for the 2-for-1 short stack vouchers that seem to pop up everywhere, such as in information stands. The voucher gives you and a buddy a big plate of pancakes for $ 6 — and no one can complain about that.

The only pancake i ever get from this place is the strawberry short stack because i love strawberries sooo much. The pancakes are moist and super fluffy and it definitely satisfies my sweet tooth cravings as it isn’t too sweet either.

Some of the best pancakes I’ve had in my life. Quick friendly service, decent size dishes and a nice warm, relaxjng atmosphere. Pancakes are a little pricy but tastes absolutely amazing. Anyone in Melbourne should definitely give pancakes parlour a visit.

This parlour reminded me a lot of Pancakes on the Rocks but not as good. As in the pancakes didn’t taste as good. We were only after a quick sweet meal and having been here before it was a safe choice. It’s situated inside a shopping complex so not hard to find. They have alcoholic drinks options, which surprised me for a shopping centre inset restaurant. The pancake choices are variant you’ll find something to your preference here at least. We were in a rush so we only ordered one dish to share. It was semi decent. We’d probably repeat the visit under same circumstances but not in a hurry. Good for kids and groups though, we noticed small kid birthday parties going down there.

The pancakes tasted good, but too sweet for my likening. I tried pancake with salted caramel topped with crushed almonds and vanilla ice cream. They also have students package, good value!

The Pancake Parlour; what can I say about this place. Well to start, this place was an utter disaster. My first time here will definitely be my last. Walking in I had hopes. It looked like a nice place with a good amount of people. A relatively busy place should generally be a good sign right? Usually I would think so. This time, not so much. We sit, we order, and we wait. When the order finally came one of the five orders was incorrect. I will let that slide. It happens. Said mistake was corrected and bill was adjusted(I’ll let that slide as well), but the wait on the corrected order was longer than needed to be. Mistakes in an order should be redone promptly but took as long as if we had ordered the first time. Was this the only issue? I wish it was. We had asked for a some honey, honey that is an additional cost mind you, and we waited. We kept waiting. And waited some more. We finished and was ready to pay by the time the honey came out. Of course the honey was removed from the bill but I that really enough? A member of our party was not able to fully enjoy the order because of something that never given. The slow service is although not excusable, is understandable, but a complete lack of service is inexcusable. In regards to the actual quality of the drinks we had ordered. It was not worth it. I was definitely disappointed with what I had and I was not the only one that did not fully enjoy their order. I will not be coming back to The Pancake Parlour and I urge others to do the same. I was very disappointed with both the service and the order itself. If I was offered a free meal here to make up for my experience I would rather pay to go somewhere else.

I had the royal Canadian pancakes for dinner. I know pancakes for dinner wah wah go on and judge. On the breakfast menu the same thing was $ 16, but because it was night time they charged be $ 24. Ridiculous. The staff were negligent. The food was over priced and average at best. Will make a special effort to not come here again.

What can I say, it’s a chain and it’s everywhere for a reason. Consistent service and food. Something you might not associate the pancake parlour with is cocktails. This location is conveniently between the movies at Melbourne Central and the train station at Melbourne Central. Therefore it’s the perfect place to debrief about the movie you just saw over a quick cocktail on the way to the train. You need to ask for the drinks menu. They also have wine beer and spirits. Unlike other popular chains nearby the cocktails are actually really good. From past experience I know the food is too.

Everyone in Melbourne knows what goes on here! There is many sweet and savory pancakes on the menu and lots of milkshakes, spiders. drinks ahoy! I prefer the Melbourne Central location as it’s quite new and the Pancake Parlour does seem to get stickier over time. It’s on the expensive side considering the portion sizes but it’s been around for a very long time, they know what they’re doing and they’re always adding new things to the menu. I will try the salted caramel pancake next time! and the Lamington Pancake is quite good. I usually have the strawberry pancakes or the Alice in Wonderland. The savory stuff is good too but if I’m having pancakes they might as well be sugar laden!

I like to think that while we visited Australia, we did our best to assimilate when it came to food. We ordered flat whites. We ate burgers with beets, without raising our brows(too much). And we tried what I can only guess is the national breakfast, proclaimed as such by government edict: The Big Breakfast. Maybe we just didn’t know where to look, but by the time we reached Melbourne, we were sorely missing a real big breakfast. Really big. Diner style. Breakfast. I thought that, of the many common threads between American and Australian cultures, hefty calorie laden breakfasts would be one of them. Mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach in a breakfast? Fine, but let them be smothered in eggs and cheese, please. And meat. And I want pancakes with that. Where are the pancakes?! Enter Pancake Parlour. This… THIS felt like an American style breakfast spot. The magical smell of maple syrup combined with freshly brewed coffee(I think this combination only works in smell-form. Someone else will have to report on whether maple syrup is a successful coffee sweetener) filled the air. Frankly, freshly brewed coffee seemed to be a rarity in our travels, too. Again, maybe we just didn’t know where to go, but it seemed like our options were either fantastic espresso or horrible instant coffee, day after day. But I digress… The menu is expansive(and a bit expensive), making a head swirl with indecision. Swirl, like cream in that freshly brewed coffee. I chose the Boston Beans Breakfast, though I’m not entirely sure that something like this would be found even in Boston. It was a classic combo of pancakes, bacon, eggs and, well, baked beans. Why the heck not? It was homey, comforting and filling. Coffee was refilled promptly and service was friendly. I wish we’d had more time to return and try more items, including the sweeter side of the menu. My one reservation is the cost. Even taking into account higher food prices overall in Australia, it was a little difficult to reconcile the price with the meal.

I do love pancaked and the pancake parlour is the best places to get thn that I know of in Melbourne at least. The service is friendly and welcoming. I frequently attend the Restuarant at the top of Melbourne central and love to go there at every spare chance that I can. Luckily for me pancaked Aren’t just restricted to breakfast!

My oh my… Pancake Parlour… If you want to really hate yourself, then Pancake Parlour is the place to go to. Now, I’ve never been before and I’ve heard mixed reviews about it from friends and colleagues so I was a little unsure. We got there, took a seat and had a look at the menu. Now, if you like savoury with your pancake, then you’ll want to look at the Breakfast fare and expect to be set back at least $ 16 for a meal. Pancakes with eggs, bacon or beans do not mix for me. It’s like having pineapple in your burger. Non! Non! Non!!! After browsing through the sweet fare, we decided to go for the Alice in Wonderland — 2 buttermilk pancakes, lashings of hot chocolate fudge, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and sprinkled with hundreds and thousands. Our pancakes did not take long to get to us which was pretty good given that the place was busy however I reckon they should ‘Stroke on plate’ instead. Seriously, the pancake was literally drowning in choc fudge! Now, to be fair, it was quite nice actually. The ice cream was good — smooth and creamy and the pancakes were nice and fluffy(Tell you what, I’d be pleased with just them topped with maple syrup!) but wow — Very Very sweet and heavy. It’s one of those desserts which fills you up so much that the only thing you want to do after eating is crawl in bed and take a long nap!

Oh deary me, Pancakes with a combination of sweet toppings? You’ve sold me already Pancake Parlour. A work colleague and I came here after a long lunch(There were many of these at my old boring I. T job) and woofed down some delicious after lunch treats. We arrived and waited to be seated, a young chipper lass seated us and informed us about some of the items of the menu. My friend had a voucher for 2 for 1 chocolate pancakes(seriously, start printing off your self-serve checkout receipt at coles because that’s where she got it from). The pancakes were ordered and arrived within 10 minutes. The decadent pastry was smothered in chocolate sauce and topped with cream. We returned to the office and had to unbuckle our belts to sit back in front of the slave box(i mean work computer).

I hadn’t been to The Pancake Parlour since I was a kid, but came out of the cinemas on Saturday night with a real hankering for something sweet so headed in. I got so much sugar in one dessert I don’t think I’ll need to have dessert for another month. I had the ‘Alice in Wonderland’, which is two pancakes, hot chocolate fudge, ice cream and sprinkles, along with a ‘piccolo’ bottle of sparkling wine. It was as intense as it sounds, but if I look at it objectively the ‘meal’ was quite good. The Pancake Parlour use organic ingredients where possible, and I could certainly taste that the ice cream was of excellent quality. This is a relatively new branch of The Pancake Parlour and as such the interior is modern and comfortable, while still maintaining something of the original circus vibe found in the older stores. The service was friendly, albeit a little too quick — I felt like they were trying to get rid of us, perhaps in time for the late-night rush. As Clarissa said, the opening hours are fantastic — being able to have a quality sweet or savoury meal in the wee hours of the morning is a rare treat, and goes a long way to explain the high prices.
