$ 5 pints during happy hour are the main reason to go… friendly staff doesn’t hurt the proposition either.

A not-particularly impressive bar located in the QV complex. Cheap beers on Wednesday. Some outdoor seating that is precisely located to catch the wind and rain.

Wound up here for a work get-together; not really likely to go back(unless it’s your round). The cider selection was impressive, in theory, but, not being an expert in these things, I(foolishly) asked the bartender for advice. It went something like this: Me: What’s your best cider? I’ll have that. Him: That would be #brand#. it’s really good and #insert other characteristics#… Me: Great! Pint! Him: We’re out. Me: #sigh# Okay, second best? Him: #brand2, it’s also very good. But we’re out. This was also the case for one of the beers I wanted to try — I’m much more of a wine fan, but my Spider Senses told me that wine from this place would be a bad idea. The food was average pub fare. I suppose that the biggest compliment I can pay it is that«it stayed down» — which is something. The venue itself looked quite nice, except for the handful of smokers out front making the approach and departure a toxic risk — and it was a Tuesday night, so pretty quiet overall. Oh, and those Spider Senses? A colleague had a glass of Footbolt Shiraz(d’Arenberg) and after the first sip looked and me and said: I should have had the cider. ’nuff said.

Cheap beers on Wednesday. Acceptable pub food. Fun fact: this place is named after the average temperature of its beer garden.

Do you enjoy watching people, crowds and the general stage that is life on the streets? Then this is the bar for you. Situated in the controversial city square, there is no better spat than to watch people, and the world in general. On Saint Patricks day 2012, the crowds included, the Occupy Melbourne Group, tourists, and other nefarious characters a great mix all round and thoroughly entertaining.

Great place for casual beers and food. This is a popular place for people to hit after a long day at the office. We had plenty of beers and good time outside on their patio. Don’t half step. Be prepared for a ton of cigarette smoke outside.

I came here once for a work team lunch. The bar was quite well stocked, service good, seats comfortable and the atmosphere pleasant. It was all going well for this place until the food came. When my chicken fettuccine arrived, I thought maybe I’d ordered from the entrée or kids menu by mistake. Turned out that it was indeed the main size. This is not the place to go if you’re a hungry adult. On top of that, the dish itself was quite tasteless, I had to add lots of pepper & salt myself.

There’s not many cider bars in Melbourne, but this bar does have a good cider selection on tap. This is the only reason we went here, and we were not disappointed. They also have a great beer selection. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was friendly. They also show live sports on a big screen TV. The only negative is that it’s a little hard to find inside QV. There’s no signs anywhere, until you’re looking at the entrance.

Did someone say cider bar?! Yep, they even have 11, count them 11, ciders available. If you’re a cider nut like me then you my want to order a couple of serves of their spiced crispy chicken wings and proceed to make your way through all 11.

If you are looking for a quick meal on route a night out in the city, the service here is speedy fast. Try your luck on a Thursday night with 15 pot and parmas from 5−9pm. 3 degrees also acts as a bar/lounge area and has multiple levels, downstairs– looks on to a court yard area in QV square, and up above is usually home to many functions, especially around Christmas/New Years and can hold over 400 people.

I’m not much of a one for foodcourts and shopping centres, so I feel a little bad about myself whenever I go to a place like Three Degres and end up liking it. It’s professional and modern, with a few tasty ales on tap. It’s never going to be your local, and it knows it, but its quiet enough to sit down for a meeting, and big enough that you’d be comfortable organising a medium-sized function. It’s even got personality, if a relatively restrained and somber one. A touch of class, but not to the extent that it feels exclusive.

This is a spacious bar in Melbourne. I was introduced to this bar on a windy, Saturday afternoon and there was an abundance of space available. What a great, delayed start to this given weekend. A couple of lattes, lemon lime and bitters and winning Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow 101 an hour later between two people; it felt like heaven on a stick. The service was fantastic and the lemon, lime and bitters was a real standout drink. Not sure why, the lime leaf was a great addition; and the bitters taste wasn’t too bitter; nor was the drink overly lemony and gassy. The balance of flavours to purport was a technical skill in itself; yet it was almost effortless watching the bar staff prepare these drinks for me and my Cashflow Club partner on this occasion. Leave the lattes for another day; although a great perk me up was enjoyed in the coffee department as well. A great establishment to come to with a small group of friends on a Saturday afternoon, and be prepared to catch up for a few hours over a few drinks, and you never know: you might be able to create your own heaven on a stick experience here.
