Tony Starr’s Kitten Club

«You’re taking me to ~another~ strip joint?» was my premature remark to the friend who invited me here. The name was so obvious to me that I figured it could be nothing else. Boy, was I wrong.
Tony Starr’s is a funky little bar smack bang in the middle of the city. We attended for a few Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows upstairs in the Level 2 «Galaxy Space». The place is dark, with an intimate feel, yet is surprisingly roomy. The lighting and décor is gorgeous, as with lots of Melbourne venues.
The drinks menu is solid, with several local and imported craft beers on offer, in addition to the «usuals». I was pleased not to be forced into drinking Crown Lagers all night like some other venues.
I’d definitely go there again for an event or something unstructured, either way.
