Decidedly average. The price is average. Not cheap enough to forgive the food. Too heavily fried agedashi tofu and an oversalted broth, gluggy rice, bitter cabbage in the pork ginger, over salty miso and weak green tea. The service was okay. The atmosphere was not pleasant; no music or anything. If you’re not fussy, it’ll do but if you know your Japanese food, you’d be disappointed.

Very quiet on a Sunday night, but the soup, salmon steak and inari rolls with ginger were all delicious. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We had the gutan(oxe tongue), buta no shogayaki(pork ginger strips) & katsu nabe(fried pork soup). The last two were excellent, on par with the best i have had in japan. At these prices together with friendly service, clean and japanese styles setting what more could you want?

Great little place. Isn’t at my mainstream and authentic. The place sometimes gets busy but the staff seem to cope just fine. Recommended.

Friendly and efficient service. Delicious food beautifully cooked and presented. Décor was from the 70s, but that just adds to the charm.

Delicious Japanese in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Great for small or larger groups. This place is my first stop for quality Japanese food. My recommendation is the Katsu Curry Rice with some Gyoza. If you want to try something a bit different to drink, ask for a can of Strawberry Calpico. VERY sweet. Or, if you are in a hurry, their sushi(eat in or take away) is really top notch.
