Burgerlab 3194

Have wanted to try this place since it opened and I finally got round to it but oh boy what a disappointment. I tried the house burger with chilli fries, while my partner went for a veggie option. Wrong fries arrived but were replaced some ten minutes later. Burger was cooked medium rare, which is how I like it (good job because I hadn’t been asked) but was barely warm. ‘Good luck with those’ was the waiter’s comment. Watery chemical tasting milk shake was the disappointing compliment to my meal. There were only a few people in the place but I still stood for ages waiting to pay and nobody asked if I had enjoyed my meal.

The best chicken burger I’ve had! Fresh ingredients and a juicy pattie. The beer battered fries are deliciously crispy. Also love that they have veggie options. Went for a late lunch so it was pretty quiet except for the music that was a tad too loud. Also need to navigate two steps to get to the tables which is a hassle with a pram. Still I’ll be there again for a burger fix!

We went for lunch on Saturday and it was really good. The staff were attentive and the service was friendly and fast.
I had a beef burger and my husband had the chicken special. Both were great. Everything was cooked well and fresh. My daughter had a choc shake and I had a caramel. Both were fine without being special. My husband had the salted caramel and it was definitely the pick of the three-​I asked him to swap with no luck :-)
We ordered as serve of the beer battered fries and a serve of the triple cooked fries between the 3 of us. I recommend the beer battered ones. They were great. The triple cooked were a bit «meh» but not because they were poorly done. They just were not to our liking.
The other thing I really liked was the impressive spread of free sauces on the table for you to use at no extra charge-​this was a real winner in my view. It was fun trying them with the fries etc.
I would recommend burger lab to anyone after a decent burger in the Mentone area.

Really good selection of burgers simple in nature. Buns are awesome and a good size. We have been back several times and enjoy this spot in mentone. Good service and great food quality.

This is a new burger place that had its soft opening 2 weeks ago. It has been packed most nights with local patronage eagerly wanting to try what was on offer. Needless to say that included me! :)
Having just sampled this during the day… hmmm… I think I need to give this burger joint another go… came purely for the burger and I enjoyed the chips more than the burger. I have to say tho, it’s good but not great or exceptional to warrant recommending travelling an hour here to try one. right now I can only say there 2 are in that category for me.
the reason I say I gotta give this place another go is that I was sold on the chicken burger. when asked what was the most popular so far the semi hot assistant mgr chick said chicken then house. My first instinct was either the house burger or the chefs Nero burger. Anyhooo got sold on the chicken avo burger with bit of coleslaw.
Presentation … buns were lightly toasted and the chicken pieces blared out at me. Eat me eat me! that I did. Chicken pieces were coated with an almost tandoori flav. meat wasn’t dry. But I couldn’t taste any avocado. in checking. there were some but the stronger flavour from the fried chicken pieces had drowned it. Half way through I started enjoying it with all the flavours combining in ur mouth. a mixture of sweat and saltiness.
Also had the triple fried chips! Now these were good! crispy bits on the chips were YUM. Now if this was eggplant instead of potatoe!!!
As the name suggests there maybe a few others to pop up around town. this was at 3194
