Cheese Bread! Sizzler has been my favourite restaurant since I was a little tyke. I love the atmosphere, the food, the cheese bread: frankly I love Sizzler in its entirety. Perhaps this bias colours my review but I honestly and sincerely believe that Sizzler is a restaurant that has something for everyone. Firstly: cheese bread! Am I crazy or is this super soft, fresh, cheesy and utterly divine bread actually the world’s most delicious food? It’s worth visiting just to get some of this wonderful yumminess in your mouth. Ask for as many extra servings as you like and enjoy! One of the other great things about Sizzler is that for a few dollars more than the salad bar you can get a full pub like meal as well. I opted for the Malibu beef burger and hubby had the Fishermans platter. Both were decent fare, made great with the fresh salads and pastas of the accompanying buffet. There is also a nacho/taco bar, potato skins, soups, fresh fruit and desserts to choose from to add to your stomachs delight. Food is fresh, cheap and cheerful and sure to satisfy fussy eaters(though perhaps not gourmets). If anything the décor has become more fresh and inviting than previous incarnations and the staff, as always, are friendly, swift and fantastic. The environment is very family friendly: upbeat and jovial with the wonderful background hum only found within the comfortable confines of such an unpretentious, homely place. Prices average around $ 35 for adults, including an attached meal and unlimited soft drinks, teas and coffees. Kids vary depending on their age. Sizzler is a true family restaurant: boasting something for all in a casual, laid back setting that is comfortable and welcoming. Come for the cheese bread, stay for a laugh, good conversation and fun times for all.

So got here just before 6pm on Good Friday. The place was already half full, but at least no lineup… I’ve tried to get in here a few times before, but always at least a 30 minute wait I haven’t eaten at a Sizzler for, I dunno, 20 years?! So I’d forgotten I need to order before I even walk in… What a hassle, but that’s the way it works Ok so we make some quick decisions while talking to a hostess who so couldn’t care about us. I’d be in the middle of telling her something and she’d start having a conversation in her Madonna headset. Do they have a drive thru here? Who the hell is more important than me? I nearly walked out then and there. So we ordered food in between 3rd party conversations. So the food. I couldn’t bring myself to pay $ 40 for a steak and be disappointed, so I thought a $ 35 fisherman’s basket — close to the ocean — how could they go wrong?! I asked if they had mineral water, I was told no. Soda water? No. Water? Yes, get the drinks package. My daughter wanted apple juice. Drinks package. She then told me to wait until someone seated me. Between another headset conversation Then the loveliest person that works at Sizzler seated us and she was delightful. Wow, if the were all like that, people would come back! I’m so sorry I didn’t catch her name and it was the last time I saw her So we went to get drinks, after noticing that mineral water is on the drinks menu at a lower price that I paid for the drinks package… Juice? They don’t have it at the drinks area. The only thing that came close — orange fruit drink. We both had tap water. $ 3.95 each. Our food was plonked on the table by various people passing by. The servings were a good size and there’s a full salad bar too, I don’t eat salad, so that’s a waste. The seafood was all bland and tasteless. We left after 20 minutes and didn’t eat most of it. One of my worst dining experiences and not recommended. One star as I can’t give none

The highlight of Sizzler is and always will be the cheese toast… everything else is a waste of your hard earned cash. Came here on a Tuesday evening with four friends and(obviously) ordered the salad bar with drinks plus a meal each. The steak was way overcooked and we didn’t end up finishing it, the burger was cold and the salad bar food was really no better. The only redeeming feature(aside from the aforementioned cheese toast) was the soft serve ice cream with oreo bits from the dessert bar. Seriously, even the staff know the foods bad… Don’t eat here unless you have a bunch of children under the age of 8 that want to run rampant through the restaurant and make spiders from the soft drink machine.

This place brings back memories. Everything is still so 90’s. Even the cheese toast and pumpkin soup. Missed it big time since it left Melbourne. Glad to enjoy one of the last ones standing.
