History

Established in 2005.

Valerie Khoo founded Australian Writers’ Centre (AWC) way back in 2005. She’d previously done the hard yards switching careers from accountancy to follow her writing dream, and wanted to help others keen to follow a similar path. She envisioned a place where people could learn to write confidently, get published and fulfil their writing dreams.

And so AWC was born — expanding to the thriving community it is today. Valerie’s own passion for all things writing, creativity and business continues to drive the school. And it’s our awesome students who in turn inspire and drive Valerie!
