Great breakfast and really reasonably priced. Loved the fact that I could order a pot of tea for around $ 4 which was enough for three people! Only downside is that it’s so popular it’s quite noisy. Great place.

I recently had coffee here with a cool bunch of people and was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast menu even at 11:30am. They serve coffee’s in bowls here, and people who take the coffee in a bowl plunge are always going to be great people to me. I had a capaccino in a mug with the french toast(strawberries, berry compote, chantilly cream and bacon…) I was so looking forward to the crispy bacon! When my french toast arrived alas there was a soggy slice of bacon on the very bottom of all the toast and berries so I really had to dig around for it… a little disappointing I must say. It was super busy on a Sunday, in fact full house on the inside so we were on a table on the outside… the waiters were really lovely though and the inside was really comfort feeling… hence the Comfort at my Table name I guess. I would be back for the coffee, it’s strong and it does the job. The food is okay — Eggs Benedict did look a bit delicious. Note: They let you pay individually if you are in a large group!

I recently caught up with friends over a brunch session here, having waited for quite some time to find the perfect opportunity to visit this bookmark on my Unilocal list. Unfortunately, I must have really built it up in my head, because I was completely disappointed with both the quality and the pricing of the food. I ordered the Spanish omelette for $ 17.90, a ridiculous price for the 2-egg flavourless flap served to me. The filling of chorizo, blistered cherry tomato, roast potato, Spanish onion and«gratinated» cheese was meagre. And for the record, gratinated cheese implies a crisped, golden surface, which was non existent. My friends’ dishes, which I usually attack with a fork without asking, didn’t even look interesting enough to taste. I actually spied one dining partner sawing through some sourdough underlying her eggs benedict. This makes no sense to me, as sourdough bread is chewy and crusty, even when toasted. So why would you put it under delicate toppings(such as poached eggs) if you’re going to be hacking away at it with a fork and knife? It just clearly wasn’t well thought out. It may very well be that their lunch fare is more innovative and appetizing. But it’s a shame I won’t ever know, as I doubt I’ll be returning.

Ok so I didn’t count on how popular this little gem is and didn’t think to book. Booking is a must for Sunday breakfast/brunch. After our 40 minute wait for a table(purely our fault) we were seated outside which I was happy about because although the inside is amazingly decorated, the noise from the enthused crowd of diners was slightly overwhelming. This is a testimony to the popularity of this establishment. The menu is pleasing with endless GF options. I opted for the Avo on Toast with a side of smoked salmon. I washed it down with a warming coffee chased with a pineapple and mint slushie. The staff were friendly and good humoured despite being under pressure. Overall we enjoyed a lovely ladies brunch and all said we would be back.

We tried this place for breakfast this morning. It seems as though it’s a very trendy café, everyone who was there was quite young. I guess young people don’t mind so-so service or food since that was our experience. We managed to place food and drink orders around half an hour after being seated. When our good arrived it was fairly standard, nothing to write home about and the selection on the menu was hardly anything adventurous. We probably won’t come back, there are far better options available in the area.

This place is super cute. Walking in is like stepping into Martha Stewart’s dining room. The serving sizes were huge! I couldn’t even finish mine. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was delicious with awesome amounts of spinach! The guy who served us was really friendly but the food was a little slow.

Comfort is definitely my new favorite breakfast place. Not only is the all the food great, but the service is also especially good(compared to most other Brisbane restaurants). They’re always friendly and attentive no matter how busy it gets(and it’s almost always busy). If you want to come on a Saturday or Sunday call ahead and make a reservation. Atmosphere is great and the décor is very American Southern and homey. As far as what to order– the specials are always amazing, the brioche french toast is great for sweet and for savory the classic eggs on toast is to-die-for.

A girlfriend who works in Milton has been campaigning for me to visit Comfort At My Table for several months. Obviously she got to me as it was the first spot that entered my head when returning from some early morning volunteering at St Lucia, craving breakfast. I assumed it was on Park Road, but later found out it was away from the main strip on Cribb Street. The café is unexpectedly spacious with cute and cheery décor; «a perfect place for a mum-and-sister date,» I thought to myself as we were seated. I ordered their avo on toast which I’m confident is the best in Brisbane… I’ve eaten at almost all joints mentioned here and here and can’t believe they haven’t made the list! I have no idea where they source their sourdough from but it was incredible and the star of the dish alongside the ripe, creamy avocado. It’s all in the extras for me and this one was served with crisp rocket, a drizzle of olive oil, just the right amount of Danish fetta, a slice of grilled lemon and a spoonful of the best tomato relish I’ve ever had. I also ordered a side of bacon which for $ 4 was an extremely generous portion. My husband ordered the one pan fry up(sans eggs, but with a side of roast tomatoes) and an iced chocolate and was a big fan of both. Presentation of our meals(and every other meal we eyed off!) was A+ and the service was friendly and fast. It’s obvious that savoury won my brain over today but next time I vow to order the Banoffee waffles!

Quoting my husband: «this is the best breakfast I’ve had in all of Australia. Even compared to Melbourne’s» Décor is frilly, pink, and vintagey(in the modern 50s style). I had«Nim’s Eggs» which are a couple poached eggs over bacon rashers, homemade pesto, and a wonderful banana chutney. Their sourdough toast was thick and crispy. I also ordered banana bread which came with their homemade ricotta. Yum! My husband and I shared a couple pots of their Soy Chai Latte — at first hubby was put off by the«soy“description, I assured him that I’ve read a few reviews complimenting it so we got it. It was excellent that we ordered a second one.(A pot contains enough for two and a quarter mug fulls). The place was very, very busy(thankfully I had my husband call to make a booking), and It does get very noisy inside and outside. It seem a popular spot for special events as well(not only we went for my birthday, there were two communal tables taken over by a bridal shower, and I had glanced over to see a girl unwrapping a large canvas and I noticed her boyfriend was about to get down on his knee, so I immediately told my husband«LOOK over there!» Yep we witnessed a marriage proposal. Very cute and I caught a couple servers had tears in their eyes.)

This adorable restaurant is tucked away in a business building in Milton but boy is it a fun find! We went on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the place was crowded but jam packed. Outdoor seating was all taken but we were immediately seated inside. My friend and I ordered Nim’s Eggs and my sister ordered the French Toast. I would definitely say that the banana chutney is to DIEFOR. Just like Lani said, this is of national importance. Why didn’t I think of it? Unfortunately, there weren’t any jars for me to buy on this particular visit. The banana chutney was the most unexpected(perfect) compliment to the poached eggs, bacon, spinach pesto on top of sourdough. I want to eat the meal right now and it’s not even breakfast time. My sister’s french toast had poached pears that were super tasty. Compared to my meal though, I would not trade. Nim’s Egg has all the savory with the right touch of sweet. My sister also ordered a mocha and loved it! The décor and bright flowers at the check out counter really make it so quaint and comfy. If this was in my neighborhood, I would come a few times to read and eat. Mainly eat but flip a few pages before my meal comes. Bottom line– you will definitely find comfort food at your table! Don’t miss out.

I was really impressed by Comfort At My Table. It’s a bit of a trek from my home suburb, but SO worth it. We came on a very rainy Saturday without a booking and it looked like we might be in for a long wait. We were told it may take up to 30minutes for a table, maybe sooner if we were happy to sit outside. I was prepared to wait this one out — all the food I was seeing come out looked good. Other Unilocal reviews were also pretty positive I wasn’t dying of hunger like a few other people who chose not to wait for a table. I did run into a friend who had made a booking the week before for her visiting family and somehow that booking was lost — but it looked like the staff were doing everything they could to accommodate their large group and they were seated pretty quickly. We were seated within around 15 to 20 minutes at a cute table by the window outside. I wasn’t deterred even as splashes of rain came through the awning above, though I did feel a little bad for the table next to us that got a little more battered by the pouring rain and edged their table ever closer to ours. We were walked through the specials, which all sounded pretty darn delicious. But I was already sold on Nim’s Eggs(after reading Lani’s review) and my friend was pretty well fixed on the Seuss-esque green eggs and ham. We drank down a coffee each while we waited for our meals. I was definitely not disappointed by Nim’s Eggs. Perfectly poached, non-vinegar tasting eggs, the best bacon I had eaten in an age, fresh basil pesto and a most delicious banana chutney. It was a super generous serving atop a big piece of non-too-chewy sourdough. My friend said his meal was delicious also. A total win. I have been raving about Comfort At My Table to anyone who will listen. It was really a great breakfast/brunch outing. Looking forward to going back sometime soon. Next time though, I will definitely book ahead and hope that booking doesn’t get lost.

Upon arriving, I was a little underwhelmed by the interior, as I was expecting this decked-out country girl style of a café –my impression from all the reviews. That was disappointment number one. Then, I was excited to check out their menu and munch, but was greeted by a waitress who seemed less than enthused at seating me and my mum. Their menu was decent, though didn’t actually impress me one bit, so I decided on the zucchini and smoked salmon fritters and French Toast(12.8). At 1pm, I could forgive the fact that they ran out of the fritters, and so I went for the French croissant with apple cardamom + etc(16). The waitress seemed to try to tell me that both were sweet and a bit similar — or maybe she didn’t — I really couldn’t understand her… so we ended up getting it. The french toast was so dense and not a bit fluffy like french toast should be, and the berries and ricotta was a big pile of mush with no interest in the flavoring. It was, however, better than the poor-looking French croissant. Now, I understand that French croissants are different than American croissants, but this one was just oozed salty butter when I took a bite, which I was rather dismayed at. Maybe that’s the way people like it here, but it was a soggy pastry of salty butter. The cardamom apples weren’t too great either, so I ended up dousing the little croissant that I ate with the syrup and eating the candied walnuts(which was the best part). We were very unhappy — and in the states — if customers are unhappy — the chef tries to appease the diners with something on the house. We complained, and who were we kidding? They just asked if we wanted to order more savory items! There was no way I was going to try more after the French Toast. Maybe they were just having a bad day, or maybe I had ordered the wrong things, but needless to say, this is one place I would not recommend! I’d much rather make a trip out to New Farm for Banneton or Au Cirque.

Trendy, Love, Care, Cozy, Intimate, Homely, Quaint, Farmhouse, Cute, Pastel(colour scheme), Feminine, These are the words that comes in my mind when I think of Comfort. You will find; Excellent waiter service, Delicate food(& generous serves!) Cute girly decors and interior, antique cutlery and gorgeous dishware to keep everyone entertained. Arty things, creativity is all around… Amazing Ambiance I can’t really complain… The service was fast, excellent and he was extremely accommodating. They knew exactly what to suggest, and always greet you and provide all the love and care you need to feel extra special! Food was scrumptious although the battle between sweet and savoury does not simplify your decision! Comfort is an adorable date spot for brunch/lunch with girlfriends and ideal to get your sugar fix.(their ginger & nectarine cheesecake is absolutely heavenly!)

Ugh. She’s that annoying person who keeps updating her review. Right? WRONG. Nim’s banana chutney makes this update of national importance. Paired with 2 poached eggs, freshly made spinach pesto, bacon and sourdough. Ridiculously good. Oh, and depending on how much they’ve made and what’s left over. It sells by the jar at the front counter.

Comfort is surely one of Brisbane’s top brekky spots, especially now they open on Sundays! I like to «get around» when it comes to the first meal of the day, but I always find myself returning CAMT between new breakfast venues. The name is very apt, with mismatched cups and saucers, and souvenir spoons it feels a bit like dining at a dottery nanna’s house. The food is fantastic, generous serves and extremely low prices! I can’t think of anywhere else in Brisbane that I can get an enormous serve of french toast, with bacon, and TWO coffees for around the $ 20 mark. I really don’t eat anything else here besides the french toast(or any«frenched» specials like today, when I had the frenched brioche w berries and ricotta, can’t go past brioche) as I am a french toast FIEND. If it’s on a menu, I have to order it. I would go as far as to make the call that Nim’s french toast is the BEST I have ever eaten. Perfect amount of custardy eggy goodness, loads of syrup — THEBEST. I know it’s a big call, but I feel qualified to make it. I have tried snippets of other dining companion’s meals, and everything I’ve tried has been great… but THEFRENCHTOAST. Seriously. It can get a bit noisy inside on a weekend because it’s so busy, so if you prefer a quiet breaky/brunch/lunch I suggest sitting outside. It can get a bit chilly outside in the cooler months, but the staff will lovingly rug you up with a blanket if you’re feeling the cold. It’s just too cute. I spied an enormous and delicious looking banofee pie at least 15 cm tall in the cake display cabinet this morning while I was lovingly admiring the chocolate castle sculpture in there(that I may or may not have sculpted myself… whatever!) and I was almost kicking myself for eating all my breakfast and not being able to fit a piece in, it looked that good. There are always a few other sweet delights in the cabinet as well… I spied what looked like caramel tarts, but were labelled«wang wangs» so if you’re into wang wangs, I suggest visiting Comfort as they seem to have them… But basically — breakfast, delicious coffee, wang wangs — visit comfort. I suggest booking on the weekend because it would be a sad day for you if you couldn’t happen to get a table.

What a little diamond of a place this is. And right smack in between Coro Drive and Milton Road? Are you kidding me? This place is more appropriate as the quaint little café for Hampton Court Palace, not situated in the middle of Busy Cribb Street. And yet Comfort At My Table is immensely popular, obviously. I’ve learnt that if you want a seat in a busy place like this, you go to breakfast early; so I did. 8am to be exact, and by the time I was winding down and sipping my last coffee, the place was so packed that staff looked frantic. I’d say it’s so popular because you just don’t expect such a gorgeous place to be along such a busy street and near so many businesses. So here’s what I’m talking about: 1. Intricate, intertwining designed chairs appropriate for a garden party; 2. A quaint floral sign asking you to wait to be seated; 3. Cream and pastel pink coloured walls; 4. A counter sign saying«Smile! It confuses people»(cute!); 5. A range of decadent and delicious savoury and sweet treats at the front counter; 6. A new novelty spoon every time you order a hot drink. Let me digress about the last point there. My first coffee came with a novelty spoon from Cockington Green. You know the novelty spoons you pick up at different tourist locations with their respective locations at the end of the handle? Yeah, those. Anyway, my second coffee was a lake I cannot remember in New Zealand, and my friend’s spoon was an Australian Gold novelty spoon. That alone was such a treat for me and I found it so delightful. Not only that, but the service was exquisite. I literally had to run out to give my friend directions and the lovely staff were more than happy to mind my seat and my bag, which is something out of their jurisdiction, so I found that heartwarming. The food was also delicious and I was immensely happy about that, because Comfort At My Table has won numerous awards and been nominated countless times for their quality food. And all their meals are so affordable, a real steal for the quality. This place is definitely a new favourite of mine and you only have to see the coffee line curling out the door to realise I’m not alone in that thought.

I recently went to Comfort at My Table with a group of girlfriends for lunch. I’d never heard of this place but was pleasantly surprised. Tucked away in the business district of Milton, this is a great little find, perfect for breakfast or lunch. I ordered the Comfort Salad which had all sorts of yummy things in it – rocket, pear, honeyed almonds, sheeps’ feta. For $ 4 you have the option of adding a piece of grilled chicken breast or smoked salmon. I added the chicken and it went beautifully with the rest of the salad. With items like«Croissant French toast with bacon, poached pear, ricotta, maple syrup and honey roasted almonds» on their breakfast menu, there are definitely things I want to come back and try. In my opinion, Comfort at My Table is well-priced and good value for money. My lunch cost $ 16 and was fresh, flavoursome and filling. Breakfast prices range from $ 7 to $ 15. As a very girly-looking café, men, you’ll have to look past the pink walls and roses and go in and taste something! Who knows – with all the women in their, it might be a good place to pick up.
