The legend of San Churros, a visionary Spanish monk, San Churro who believed chocolate had incredible powers to heal and bring joy to the life of the masses and made it his life’s work and passion to share the secret of chocolate with the world. Regardless whether the legend is true or not, chocolate has been my go to medication of any ailments of bad mood and therapy for occasional stress.
This time my visit wasn’t to cure any of those diseases, but a pure instant self gratification that I sorely needed. I’ve been craving their thick and full of cocoa delicious hot chocolates which you can opt for milk or dark. The kids had the Hot & Cold, San Churro classic hot chocolate serve with a scoop of white chocolate ice cream. I had the Madrid Mocha, San Churro classic hot chocolate (which I opted for dark) with a shot of espresso.
If I could recommend the food, go for any of their Churros fondue platters. Weather you want to add your favourite things to go with your Churros fondue or pick one of their set fondue, with plenty of variations to choose from it’s a guarantee crowd pleaser. We usually go with the Fruit Fondue, mini churros and fresh seasonal fruit dip into a fondue of pure melted couverture chocolate. But that day we went all out with the Classic Fondue, fondue of melted chocolate served with mini churros, choc brownie, banana, strawberries, marshmallows, macarons and pretzels. Delicioso!

Really civilised, even if you come here on a weekend.
I always go for the new Spanish Marshmallow El Grande ($ 6.95) hot chocolate. Love the marshmallows and chocolate sauce on top, in a really cool glass with a double message «sweeten thy soul» inside. The chocolate is rich, and thankfully full table service and unlimited water at the front counter is a godsend.
Cool runnings, and I also brought one of their hot chocolate cups for $ 9.95. They do keep any drink warmer for longer.
They have a good kid-​friendly area too. Basic, yet good.
