My favourite sushi train. The mixed salad is awesome, the octopus and tiny mushrooms are delicious! The hot spicy chicken and the spicy chicken sushi are my favourites. Love it.

Kintaro is a bit hit and miss with the quality of their sushi and their service. The key if you want quality, fresh sushi from here is to only eat here when it’s busy — However, when it’s quiet you just about have to end up in argument to get fresh sushi or otherwise be content to eat the stale, slightly warm fish, the cold dumplings and soggy tempura. The service can be friendly, but is generally unwelcoming and verging on rude. Our dining experience today involved a young girl, who when we asked if we could order, begrudgingly came over to our table, never so much as said a word — just stared at us until we started to order and then walked off. No smile, no «what can I get for you», not even a «here’s your fresh salmon» when she delivered the order, she just slid the plate across the table… If there was a half decent sushi«train» style restaurant somewhere else in the northern suburbs, I would completely boycott this place based on their service alone, but a this stage it is either this or travelling to the city. On the bright side, I love their tuna sandwich which is never on the conveyer belt and is therefore always made fresh for me, so I usually order 3 of these to avoid the stale stuff.

Food is excellent, nice atmosphere, service is a bit lacking. Would recommend if you like sushi!

I can’t eat seafood so generally stay away from Sushi places. But Kintaro is just one of those lovely places that you can’t help but enjoy. As far as sushi train places go this place is in the top tier. I loved the décor it was modern and simple, and the place was clean and spotless. The chicken sushi was delicious. I had a few chicken avocado plates and some Inari(rice covered in deep fried tofu) their desserts were also sweet, but not overly so. I had a lemon cheesecake type mouse on a chocolate cake, I just had to grab it as I saw it chug past on the ol’ sushi train. The service was quick, and polite. They were very accommodating to us. We had to order a few things on the menu since I had allergies and they were happy to make it up for me. I was very impressed and happy with the service My only complaint is that the soft drinks/iced teas/waters were pretty expensive. I am going to have to go here more often, seafood allergy be damned!

We went here today, the place is very clean and tidy, the food is very fresh and nice. The service wasn’t anything to rave about, and if anything a little insulting. I was told to leave my 3 month old daughter«out the front» in her pram cause we requested a booth and there was already a woman with a pram in there and it would be to hard to ask her to move her pram so I could get past with mine… When I said no I was not going to leave my daughter out of my sight, the young waitress didn’t really know what to say… She eventually asked the lady to move her pram and we got in. Basically we were just ignored after that… Bit disappointing really… Don’t think we will go back…

Enjoyed lunch there today with my wife. The food was excellent, restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff friendly. Will certainly be going back.
