Joyful Restaurant

I stumbled upon Joyful Restaurant several months ago by chance after walking out of another Asian restaurant nearby (where we spotted a big a** cockroach chillin’ amongst the patrons). I was hungry and noticed they served dim sum so thought it wouldn’t hurt to give them a try. Before we could even sit down, the dim sum cart was next to us and the waitress was serving us steaming hot dumplings and buns. Talk about fast food!
By no means the best quality dim sum but it’s convenient and decently priced so have been back a number of times since.
Have to say though, my last visit was a little bit disappointing. The food wasn’t very hot and was told some of the items were sold out and they weren’t going to make more. It was only about 1:30pm so I wasn’t too happy about that.

Joyful Restaurant recently (as far as I know) started offering dim sum. That in itself is kind of impressive, as suburban dim sum can be kind of hard to come by. More impressive still, is that this dim sum is actually pretty damn good.
Joyful offers a pretty standard range of dim sum fare, and that will suit the vast majority just fine. This is not the best of the best Northbridge dim sum, but it well and truly does the job. If word gets out around the local area that yummy, reasonably priced dim sum with plenty of parking is available right in their very hood, this place will smash it.

This is a great place to come for lunch, and most dishes for lunch are under $ 10. The service is a little slow and the actual venue isn’t inspiring but the food is tasty.
My favourite is the satay sticks, they are cooked to perfection and they are extremely moreish. I also enjoyed the fried crispy fish, that was really tasty with some great flavours thrown in, the fried rice was really good too, I could quite easily eat that dish by itself.
You can spend hours pouring over the menu as there is so much to choose from, so you will never get sick of the same tired old menu.
I haven’t had dinner here yet, only lunch as I find myself heading over to the Indian across the road, there’s something about a curry cooking that always lures me in.

This place is gold. A block of pure gold. A big block, that’s been poured with good lighting and lots of close up camera work to make you think — I want that. Now, I use the analogy of gold because I love gold and I love this place but please don’t associate wealthy, glamorous connotations with Joyful Restaurant, Morley. Do associate lots of joy with it though.
I came in here, quite by accident, after a weary day at the not so joyful Galleria Shopping Centre, a few metres away from the restaurant.
I was tired but my soul livened as soon as I saw the sign: Joyful Restaurant. Wow. Just what I was looking for, literally. I couldn’t not go in. So I went in.
I had a wonderful time in the Joyful Restaurant and it was the best first date I’ve ever had. I got to chat to the friendly and welcoming staff, I enjoyed perusing the more than extensive menu and I relished the divine and delectable food. I could go on but the rest, as they say, is history.
I now regularly see the Joyful Restaurant and the happy eatery has even met my friends and a few of my family members. The Joyful Restaurant still has a few of his Christmas decorations up and I think, why not, hey? It adds to the joyful atmosphere even more.
I really am very glad I found this joyful gem. Chance meetings always turn out the best.
