Woodcroft Library

Woodcroft Library is a great spot to pick up a book or other resource. A great modern library that while may not have the largest catalogue, will always have something in stock for you to enjoy. Great range of non-​fiction texts including a better than average range of science and physics books.
Nice and quiet too and pleasant. A great renovation and huge improvement to the old community center which was looking a tad dated.

This library taught my child to read… well, actually I taught him but with loads of help and resorces from this library.
At the time I was working full time and did the hoursehold cleaning and shopping on Saturdays and this was the only library open on Sundays and closeby. Prior to this I had not been in a library for years. Wow had they changed!
You can now hire dvd’s and even not educational ones! Heaps of kids dvd’s and so many more resources like read along books with cd and games. We would go and hire 20 books each week for 6 months. We would spend time there choosing books and looking at things. They even have special programs for kids now, especially in school holidays.
It reinvented my whole thinking on libraries. We would actually have some real fun here. They also have a link-​up with other libraries in the area and all have the same fantastic online facility and you can do searches, make requests, even get inter library loans and transfers. Plus the sms reminders they send me when things are due back is great! And I could let the older kids have their own card but still be able to log on and keep a track of what they had and when it was due back.

Yes, I truly am a fan! This newly renovated library may not be the biggest in the world (or even the Southern area for that matter) but gee, it’s good. From the small yet adequate toy library to the public access computers and then the self check out system, this really is a nice, local place to be.
The staff have always been friendly and go out of their way to help you. The library is always clean, presentable and respected. The library, as many other Onkaparinga City Council Libraries have many children’s activities that really engage young minds and help get even the smallest bodies and brains excited about books.
The City Council also has a brilliant online system that allows you to find a book throughout any of their libraries and it can be delivered to the branch of your choice.
I wish it was bigger! :-)
