Jesters has taken the humble pie and made into something a little bit fancy. There is not such thing as just a boring meat pie to be found at Jesters. The Morning Glory is a great breakfast snack, with eggs, bacon and cheese. For the vegetarians try the Pop Eye, which is actually very tasty with spinach, mushrooms, cheese and onion. Sweet tooths rejoice, they have several different dessert pies that will satisfy your sweet cravings. Whatever you do, do not buy chips from here. They are not great.

Started up by a couple in Western Australia quite a few years back Jesters has been so successful stores are at every shopping destination these days. Jesters are my all time favourite pies(a combined first with Miami Bakehouse and the Denmark Bakery). Though the pies claim to be low in fat, I doubt that they are at all very good for you but they are supremely delicious and after you nail one you don’t feel slightly sick from the pastry of gristly ingredients like you do from most pies, as their ingredients are all very lean and sourced locally, which of course makes them more delicious! The Sheppard’s pie style pie is my favourite and all the dessert pies are delish. They do take home boxes and you can freeze them too so you’ll be prepared if a pie craving takes you by surprise one day.

Jesters is a unique pie chain due to the fact that the pies are made with jaffle makers, are 97% fat free and are made with local ingredients. I often only find myself in a pie shop when my pie eating boyfriend has a craving. I am grateful to Jaffles for supplying delicious smooth coffee and sweet pies as an alternative to the beef, cheese and bacon motherload. The lovely gentleman in Jesters in Mosman Park is so fast with the coffees and always has a big grin on his face that I find myself wanting to go to the pie shop. The yummy biscuit that goes with my coffee is always a nice welcome and stops me from biting on the pie, much to the other half’s delight.
