I stopped here for lunch and it was quite ok. A small café located on Military road with a set of outside seating on the front and the back courtyard. They have a classic café menu with a choice of hot and cold drinks(I did not see any alcoholic drinks on the menu). There is a selection of sandwiches and other cooked items for lunch. I believe they do have a breakfast /brunch menu as well. I ordered a thai beef salad for main and an iced chocolate for drink. Both were quick to get to my table. The iced chocolate was less chocolatey than I expected, due to the huge dollop of whipped cream on top. The thai beef salad was full of fresh ingredients and had a good kick to it and tasted quite ok. At $ 25 that was a reasonably expensive lunch for a salad and drink or, I am just our of touch with Sydney prices ;-)) I would come back here again. Despite having walked by this place for years when I lived in the area, this was the first time I actually tried it.

Café mosman. It’s what a café should be. Great friendly relaxed service. My order was taken promptly and I waited an acceptable time. Very good. Food is fresh hot food hot cold food cold, drinks well there is freshly squeezed everything. Great coffee and mocha yum. The ambience is both busy and serene. Out the front on Military rd you can watch the bustle of the precinct. Out the back in the leafy courtyard is pretty and quieter. Read the paper over breakfast or grab a toasted sandwich on the run. Next time you are in Mosman I recommend you take a moment and drop in. You won’t be disappointed.

Under new management as of June 2012, it’s clear that a heavy focus has been made of freshening up Café Mosman. And how fresh it is! Recycled timber walls, hanging plants, an outdoor patio and a new logo are the first signs of the facelift, while even more notable are the new selection of cakes, slices and savoury treats(most of which are baked in-house), organic De Stefano coffee, and a shiny new La Marcozzo machine. Fair trade and organic produce are now front and centre and I sampled them first hand with baked eggs with soldiers(so delicious that I wasn’t able to restrain myself long enough to snap a photo) and a near perfectly pulled long black. If you’ve brushed off Café Mosman in the past, it’s well past time you head back to check out the new renos, the beautiful coffee, and the tasty, seasonal breakfast and lunch menus.

There are ALOT of cafes in the Mosman Military road area. I’ve now been to most of them by now. Café Mosman is my café of choice. PROS: — The best eggs benedict in Mosman(maybe even Lower N Shore), hands down. — Nice, efficient wait staff. Not only are they friendly, but I don’t get the«there are so many other places I’d rather be right now» attitude you get from so many café servers these days — Great juices, good coffee and a pretty decent chai latte — Plenty of outdoor seating for me and my beloved dog — Delicious mushroom risotto on their winter lunch menu CONS: — It’s an older crowd, typical for the area. — Kitchen can be sloowwww when it’s busy. I think this is bc the kitchen is tiny but not sure. — Menu is what you would typically find at any café. Just my two cents… I’ll def be back.

As is evidenced by the lady in shot, this place tends to be frequented by a more mature crowd. This is the home of traditional Australian café fare: $ 9.00 wraps, schnitzels, eggs on toast — yadda yadda. Afternoons see a quiet hush descend as butter is spread thickly on scones with an accompanying tea(or coffee) for $ 5.50. Windows both sides of the café mean this place is bright and airy. You can sit inside or out, either in amongst the bustle of the Military Road shops or tucked away in the pretty courtyard area out back that leads to Mosman Library. I’m rather afraid the location is the best feature of this café though, as on the two occasions that I’ve visited I’ve waited ages for a coffee and it’s been bitter. With so many great cafes in the area I’d be tempted to stroll on by, unless you’re unable to, which might explain the usual clientele. Not bad, just not good.
