The Banana Tree Café specializes in delicious authentic modern Thai cuisine in a beautiful relaxed setting. We also offer a range of traditional Australian cuisine including steaks, pasta and seafood to cater for everyone’s tastes. All our dishes can be done from very mild through to traditional Thai hot. We also offer Take Away and Delivery as well.

History

Established in 1997.

The original Thai restaurant in Mount Gambier and the Limestone Coast, we started up as the Thai Blue Lake Café on the corner of Commercial Street East and Krummel Street in Mount Gambier in a little shop that seated just over 20 people. Sandy soon developed a reputation for exceptional quality Thai food and we became one of Mount Gambier’s favourite restaurants. In 2006 we changed our name to Banana Tree Café and expanded to seat upto 45 people. By 2009 we had seriously outgrown our existing premises and decided to move to our current location at 53 Gray Street, Mount Gambier. We can now seat over 120 people in comfort, either in our main dining room, our function room or my favourite, the outdoor terrace area.
