I’ve walked past Dom the Grocer on my way to Coles a few times before I thought to have a proper look. The fruit and vege, though not as extensive as many green grocers, fresh and seemed of high quality. And it should be with the prices they charge. Unfortunately there’s just not competition with the supermarkets here. I picked up a bunch of bananas from a pile as I’d see a sign that said $ 9.99/kg which is pretty cheap these days for bananas even by supermarket standards. I got to the counter and my draw dropped when the price came to $ 3/banana. Unfortunately due to a slip in concentration I missed the pricier sign for the greener bananas. It was the brown and almost off bananas that were cheap. I take responsibility for this but looking at the prices of their other goods I just don’t think I’ll shop there again. There is a better-valued green grocer down the road that has clear signage and more variety.
