Keep on walking. The worst Thai beef salad I’ve ever had along with basically cold steamed rice. Not much else to say but seriously disappointing. Unfortunately can’t give it zero stars so it gets one.

I have in past primarily used Unilocal to find places, rather than leave ratings. This time I was compelled to voice my dismay about this place. There has to be a dozen thai restaurants within quarter of a mile of this place. You do have a choice! Food: 4 out of 10 Portions: 7 out of 10 Service: 0 out of 10(Rude) Not coming back

For a small take away I think it’s great. I eat a lot of thai and the red curry was very good. I had beef which was good but beef in AU isn’t the same as in the US, but I’d say it was average for the price. Fast service and good pricing for the area. I ate here a lot in 2011 so if it can last the Military Road restaurant business it’s doing something right!

I really like it here. It is good value for money and the food has always been delicious. I recently noticed they have Healthy Choices which is what I am currently eating(Thai in a box stir fry). It is delicious and the meat is fresh. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the outdoor seating could be improved. Otherwise I recommend eating here.

As a take-away place, Thai in a Box really does tick all the boxes. The food is cheap, prepared fast and generally consistently tasty. Service with a smile is a bonus! I was skeptical at first, given similarly named places I’d been to previously which were below par, but Thai in a box gets it right. The veggie Pad Thai is just a little addictive. I haven’t yet ‘dined in’, but often see small groups there. It would be a good option for a cheap, low key with friends.

Fresh, clean and organised — that’s how I felt when I entered the Thai n a Box in Neutral Bay. No grease or off smells, no unwashed tables or smudges on the wall. This Thai eatery is one you’d feel healthy just sitting in it. The pro’s of this place is that they’re menu is flexible — in fact they’ve got a system to make your choices. First you choose your base(there’s a list of noodle or rice varieties), then your sauce, then your spice and nuts then your meat or seafood. My picks are the Pad Kee Mao with thick rice noodles stir-fried with mushroom, egg, baby corn, pumpkin, bamboo shoot, fresh chili and thai basil with tofu($ 11.90) and the Money Bags($ 6.90). The downside is it does have a touch of franchise about it. When shops are fitted perfectly it takes away from the authenticity of the cultural flavour that would seep through in a Thai owned restaurant. Vegan and gluten free options available. No MSG. Takeaway and delivery available.
