Food was horrible, staff made bad attempts at standing around and trying to look like they were working. The Blonde haired woman owner slammed a chair into my daughters’ chair twice and said she didn’t realise that she had done it. I said what twice… Asked for medium hot chilli and had the mildest chilli I have ever tasted. The owners friends came in and they were served their meals quickly whilst we had to wait 20 minutes just to get the attention of a waitress. Go to McDonalds youy will get better quality and service. If I could rate this restaurant less than 1 I would. When we went to pay teh bill the owner gave us an $ 8 discount on a $ 68 bill.

Service tonight was just woeful. We waited over an hour for food with no one even coming to check on us. When questioned we were blown off. Half an hour later after seeing several tables of various sizes get served we decided enough was enough and left. Lots of excuses but nothing that really explained how they could get it so wrong. We weren’t the only table complaining. Really let down.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was very ordinary and for what we paid was also over-priced. Would not rush back here unfortunately…

This is some of the best Mexican I have found in the Newcastle area. Service is fast, and the food quite good, particularly the combos. The atmosphere is good with coloured lighting, mexican themed stylings and music. Good as a couple or a family.

Muchos used to be good. At least, better than it is now. My chicken enchilada was bland and lukewarm. All the food is overpriced. The staff appear reluctant to actually work. I agree with the previous reviewer that I think this place is best as a weekend family haunt for parents introducing kids to Mexican food but not for anyone looking for spicy, fresh Mexican food.

There is nothing like great Mexican food. Unfortunately, Muchos is nothing like great Mexican food. In the US, Mexican restaurants are generally divided into three categories. Authentic, modern and cheap. Muchos is in a class of it’s own, being neither authentic nor cheap and far from modern. Can the average Novocastrian tell the difference? Maybe not, but the fact remains that this is not Mexican cuisine. Case in point, I ordered a chile relleno, traditionally a cheese-filled, battered poblano pepper covered with sauce(tomato or chile) The menu said it was banana chile, OK, I can live with that. The actual dish was a capsicum and the sauce was the salsa they serve with everything. That’s just laziness. All the food is served mild, presumably to cater for local tastes. The menu states that they can make food hotter to suit the customer. In practice I was told I should order(and pay for) chili sauce, which was in fact chopped chili in the salsa they serve with everything. So I had a the option of bland or insanely hot. Again more laziness. The combo meal wasn’t bad but wasn’t great, lots of battered cheesy offerings. The highlight was the beef taco, which was similar to beef barbacoa, which is actually a different dish, but still it tasted OK. At the end of the day, I can’t help but think that a visit to the Old El Paso aisle could match anything that Muchos serves up. I will say as a positive, I like the restaurant interior, it’s very Disney Mexican, but it does have a fun feel to it and I can imagine it’s fun for kids. So yes, if you want to bring your family out for a Mexican-style food experience, then yes, Muchos is probably OK for you. If you actually want to experience the flavours of Mexico, you need to look elsewhere.
