Lovely service, great food(had the Argentinian steak & fried eggs & it was awesome!), great coffee. Couldn’t fault it. Glad we tried it out, will be back!

Meh. Nice food & coffee but the service is so slow. We waited 40 minutes for breakfast on a Monday with 8 people in the place, most drinking coffee. Too many top nots and neck beards and not enough attention to customer waiting times.

Great little place for breakfast and brunch. An old milk bar that has been converted to a café. Reasonably good coffee and a great menu of interesting breakfast and lunch fare. It is very crowded on the weekend so it’s good to get there early. I’ve given them 4 stars as it’s just too noisy.

The Pint of Milk has a sunny corner location just down the block from the Newport foreshore. I’ve been burned by brunch recently and was a bit hesitant to try a new place but was charmed by the old corner store and the sun drenched patio out front. 45 minutes into our wait, as I was battling intense hunger vapours, I was regretting my decision. We had ordered BLT’s and a chicken sandwich. The only cooking involved was a few minutes of bacon grilling. I’m used to waiting for brunch on a weekend in Melbourne but not for longer than 30 minutes, and not for a hastily prepared and basic sandwich. What was especially perturbing was that we were not warned that there would be such an incredibly long wait when we sat down and ordered. I mean, really, if you’re going to be waiting longer than 25 minutes for a sandwich, you should be informed of the situation at the start. At no point did a server come by to apologise for the wait or update us on how long it would be. Coffee was good, sandwiches were average to poor: My chicken had no seasoning and was drenched in a sugary sweet tomato sauce that tasted like processed salad dressing. When we paid my friend complained about the long wait and was told, «we were full». Sorry, not good enough mate! I’ve been in Melbourne five years and I have never waited so long for a meal in a café. My friend than asked for a comp for his coffee and was told: «If you don’t feel like paying for the coffee, then don’t pay for it». How depressing. I am losing at brunch!

This is an amazing place. Drive past it all the time and tried it Sunday and nothing but praise. Coffee is awesome and first place I have been to that offer lactose free milk. Different style of menu and have to say that I could easily eat most of it on there. Had the pea and hallumi fritters with poached egg and asparagus wrapped with smoked salmon and absolutely delicious. Love that they ask whether you want your bacon crispy or not. Definitely b returning.

I hate living in the western suburbs. It’s far away from everything for me. But if there is one thing I’m going to miss the day I leave the ridiculously low rent costs, it’ll be its cafes. The Pint of Milk is the areas most recent innovation, and it continues to push the exceptional quality of cafes in the area. One time I had to wait an hour for my food because it had been forgotten. I wasn’t doing anything that day so I was happy playing on my iPad. They were profusely apologetic, and tried to only make me pay for the coffee so I tipped them $ 20 cause they were so stubborn about it. I don’t hold a grudge. I still go back. It’s still awesome. Staff are a little strange though.

Finally, after years of the space along the river between Footscray and Williamstown being a complete black spot for great cafes, someone thought to get in on the enormous volume of pedestrian traffic. This corner is one of the greatest thoroughfares for runners, walkers, cyclists, people with dogs, skateboarders and you know, a car or three. Still quite new and perhaps ironing out the kinks a little, Pint of Milk is a sensational addition to the inner West’s brunch scene. You may have a bit of a tough time getting a seat, but you’ll never have to wait long as the service is not only super friendly, but also extremely efficient. The menu isn’t incredibly creative, but what it lacks in novelty it more than makes up for in tastiness.
