This must be a rather new store, as I have never noticed it before? I was on a mission down on O’Connell and was in the mood for a salad of sorts. If I see any opportunity to get a Vietnamese Salad Bowl, I will take it! The menu is quite typical for a Vietnamese take-away shop. Cold rolls, Banh mi & Salad bowls. You can choose from roast pork, lemongrass chicken or tofu. I went for the Lemongrass Chicken. The serving was an ok size. The bowl was not very deep and I was handed a spork to eat my salad. Spork? Weird? I can’t eat noodle salad with a spork? I asked for chopsticks and they kindly handed me some. Phew! The salad was a little heavier on the meat than other places. The chicken was well flavoured, but it was not the freshest. There was a lot of noodles and not much lettuce, carrots and herbs. I would have loved just a bit of extra coriander. Oh well… the dressing was nice though. Well balanced with sweet, sour & saltiness. The layout of the shop had some seating. But it seems to be more set up in preparation of a revolving line of customers for takeaway. Would be nice to have a look at some little tables. Some people don’t want to go back to the office and eat. Overall, it was ok and was cheap. Maybe their Banh mi’s are better? A lot of people were ordering those.
