Stumbled upon this place one day when looking for somewhere cool to eat cheap and drink some bubble tea. It has now become our favourite place to go for ANY occasion be it a casual lunch or a special occasion. Menu is mainly Taiwanese/Japanese with rice, noodles, tofu, steamboat, salted fish and more plus a whole menu alone of beverages such as soft drink juices and of course Bubble tea(with pearls, jelly, milk or without) Mains are of a large size so you could easily share a few with freinds or do like we did once and order several entrees. Everything is good, especially recommend the seafoods steamboat. You get a metal pot over a little kerosene burner full of bubbling soup that has«glass noodles» with several different«fish balls» in it prawns tofu and some other things that I am not sure what they are called but they are tasty(my best guess is sour plums and some type of yellow petals) and a small bowl of rice. There is bento boxes too and udon soup and lots of other dishes like crispy chicken, pork rib, squid and so on. There is lots of comics(yes in Taiwanese but we just look at the pictures and that’s fun too) and other stuff to entertain you like Billards/pool and Darts. The biggest highlight for us is the big comfortable«tub chairs» on wheels. Visit here, try something different, read a comic and chill out for an hour or two

This café has been opened for ages and we haven’t been back here since uni days so today we thought we will a bit adventurous. The rewards? Meh it’s alright. It’s fair to say that I probably won’t be going back there in near term — we got heaps of good restaurants in perth will probably visit those first.

A vegetarian wonderland! Formosa serves delicious Asian vegetarian dishes and the restaurant is also lined with freezers that are filled with frozen faux meat and other vegetarian delights, so that you can take home and cook up some deliciousness at a later date. I tried the char kway teow, which came with faux prawns and tasted 100% as good as the version that is made with real prawns. How do they do it?! We also tried a vegetable and tofu dish with rice, that didn’t blow my mind, but was ok. It’s very reasonably priced, with lunch for two people costing $ 27. They’re happy to split the bill too. The frozen goods section is massive! There’s vegetarian ham, tuna, scallops, fish, chicken, even abalone for goodness sake! I will definitely be back.

This place is a mix of asian book/manga library, internet café, restuarant and bubble tea bar. This is my favourite place for bubble tea in Perth. They have every flavour and variation. They also have a mix of good authentic asian food. The chairs are comfy and they a large tv that plays tv shows from South Korea. This place is open til late so you can sit and study or hang out til the early hours. Don’t be put off by the fact that most people that hang out here are asian students. I used to get stares as I was the only caucasian in the room, but now I am regular and they don’t bat an eyelid. The staff are friendly, although they don’ all speak much english, but with the help of a menu and much pointing we get there in the end.
