We went for a meal to celerate a birthday. The food was fantastic, lovely authentic Italian Pizza, some sublime Gnocchi with ragu and wonderful Bruschetta. The service was friendly and professional and the staff were just attentive enough without crowding us. Overall a great experience.

Perri is a little bit in disguise, it’s sort of an oasis in amongst a patch of not much else st Georges road. Expect pizza faro, and 400 Gradi prices, and the qaulity to match. Very well worth it, and probably one of the best pizza places in the area until you get to high street. Take advantage while you can, as this place isn’t busy. yet. For the pizza connoisseur Perri is very much a place on the cards for high qaulity, great tasting pizza and excellent results. Much better than a lot of others around.

Love the home feel of the place, plenty of home photos on display! Having coffee from the caffetteria was a great touch. The specials, calabrese style pasta in mascarpone and tomato ragu was unbelievable, the gamberi pizza very nice. The base thin and still quite fluffy, and the arrancini with porcini mushrooms to start was a real hit. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!

This place had the potential to struggle to earn two stars, but saved itself with responsive service, and really interesting breakfast/brunch food. First impressions were good… and horrible. A relatively stylish internal design. Very friendly and helpful staff. But, oh my goodness. They were playing commercial radio over their, very loud, sound system. Horrific. Who wants to go out to a café and listen to advertisements? Because that is pretty much all that we heard for the first 20 minutes or so. And when they weren’t advertisements, it was the worst sort of HITSFROMTHE80s and 90s. So, I asked the very lovely waitress if they could perhaps play something other than the radio. And she did, «I’ll see if we have an iPod with some other music on it», she told me. Which they did and resulted in a huge save. It also meant that we weren’t distracted… no, overwhelmed by HITSFROMTHE80s and 90s and ads The food, however, was very special. We went for the tapas style breakfast. Nine small dishes for three people. Which was just perfect. Such stylish food, presented beautifully and creatively. It also meant that we got to sample a whole bunch of different, small tastes, and didn’t get that usual guff about the kitchen not being able to make smaller serves… Can somebody please tell me what that is all about? How hard can it be to make smaller serves(which I want because I can’t finish what is on my plate, not because I want to save money)? So, we had all five dishes on the breakfast tapas, and it felt very special. Highlights were the corn fritters, mushrooms and the Thai Princess. Finished with the mini pancake thingy, which was great. Once the music was sorted, the only other criticism was the coffee. Not very good at all. Not sure what was going on there, but both the milk coffee(cappuccino) and the espresso were not great. Still, worth four stars for the clever breakfast food, in small tapas servings. I know; sounds weird, but actually very good.

It’s Sunday morning and again I find myself at Perri. Today I tried my hand at their tapa portions for the first time because I simply couldn’t decide what I wanted. Amazing. The sizes themselves are perfect. They allow you to fully enjoy the flavours of the meal but are not so large that you wonder at the use of the word«tapa». And the flavours are, like everything served at Perri, absolutely sensational. I had the truffle mushrooms with pecorino, the Thai princess and a couple of my favourite sides. This combination cost me the same a normal meal would and was just as filling so the value is definitely there as well. As a side note, Perris hash browns are by far the best I’ve ever eaten. Another 10⁄10

We decided to try Perri for dinner last Friday night. Although we made a booking, we realised upon arriving that we didn’t need to as the place was pretty quiet. And to be honest I have no idea why?! We couldn’t fault anything about Perri. We decided to order a selection of tapas, in fact we ordered almost one of each of the tapas on offer and all were delectable morsel mouth gasms. To go with our food, the waiter told us they had made up a special sangria for the night, and that went down divine as well. I have fallen in love with everything about Perri. The service was impeccable(the owner, Joe even made an effort to make sure everything was up to our satisfaction), the food was perfect, the drinks were great and the atmosphere was superb. Best thing of all it’s just a five minute drive from my house. I’m looking forward to going back to try the breakfast tapas.

I popped into Perri with a friend for Tapas and was not disappointed. My friend and I decided to split a couple of the tapas dishes, they were so delicious we ended up ordering nearly the whole tapas menu. Definitely worth a return visit. The place is nicely set out, lots of wooden tables, with great old photos of Northcote on the walls. Service was excellent and the owners very friendly, deserts were amazing. My friend also commented on how delicious the home made sangria was. Worth a visits… enjoy

A very welcome addition to the St Georgey road café mini-scene. We’ve been getting takeaway coffees and a quick grab of baked goods from here for a while but we finally came in to have a proper sit-down brekkie. Perri is a nice open plan café with lots of wood and photos of Northcote from days of yore gracing the walls. We were greeted by the barista and another gentleman also who I’m assuming was the owner. No trouble finding a table as I think people are still discovering them… in any case they have way more space than the Breakfast Club. They also have free Wifi I believe! The coffee that morning was seriously delicious(they use St Ali so no surpise there) and I ended up indulging and having two lattes by the end of our meal. I ordered the avocado toast and my guy got the Thai breakfast. Both were delivered to us fairly quickly and were both simply wonderful dishes. His Thai breakfast was a lovely departure from the usual standard morning meal with a sesame covered mini toast and a spicy kick to wake up the tasebuds and the mind. My avocado toast with feta and roasted tomatoes was definitely a bit above the level of your average avo-toast you can get at any café in Melbourne. The toast itself was amazing, and the roasted tomatoes instead of fresh were a very nice touch. All the ingredients tasted very fresh and the entire dish was nicely put together. I’m wavering on 4 or 5 stars… I shall return soon enough and I’ll make a final call but this is definitely a solid option for any meal or snack during the day. What may put them over into 5 star territory is being consistent with their unique touches. Though I may not advise trying the almond croissants as an addiction may develop… not that I know about that or anything…
