I used to hang out here with my friends way back in 1999. No live music, no sofas for late night coffee and the waitress threw the spoons in a heap so we all had to grab our own. Hmmmm Stuzzzi I used to love you — please change back the clock!

Stuzzi is a consist and versatile addition to High Street Northcote. It is a great place to grab a drink after work, settle in for a dinner with friends or soak up some sun on the balcony over breakfast. The Mediterranean influenced menu is a mix of pasta and risotto, starters and salads and surf and turf. Over the years I have sampled most of the starters menu and everything is high quality and tasty and they do change it regularly so it never gets old. The wine and cocktail lists are varied and are reasonably priced. You can enjoy your coffee guilt free as Stuzzi uses Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee. The large concrete floor is divided into restaurant and bar lounge by a red beaded curtain and both sections are industrial modern in décor. Service is attentive and consistent. For easy excess park out the back and enter via the rear ramp.

Stuzzi is a Northcote institution, having been around since before High Street became a trendy hangout for inner city types. This café-restaurant boasts an enormous indoor space with comfy lounges as well as more formal dining areas, as well as al fresco dining out front. The menu is modern Australian with Italian influence, and the enormous(and delicious) breakfasts are served until 2pm. Friendly staff and great coffee to boot. I’ve chased away many a hangover with an early afternoon breakfast at Stussi. The lunch and dinner menu is also awesome, and a fantastic selection of freshly baked cakes are also available. Medium price range(mains $ 20 to $ 30), plenty of parking out back if you can’t find a spot on High St.
