AVOIDATALLCOSTS. After initially calling the venue 3 months prior to my event it took 6 weeks for them to get back to me to confirm details and actually make the booking. I was not happy and looked for elsewhere but it was too late as other venues were already booked by that time. After having a discussion with them about their lack of communication I proceeded but I did not feel confident. I should have trusted my gut instinct. After my event their service, or lack thereof, has left me gutted. I paid the drinks bill whilst we were saying goodbye and organising taxis to leave the venue. I didn’t think I needed to go over the bill so carefully and I paid it in good faith not expecting to find around $ 500 of drinks that were not mine on the bill. To top it off the worst part was I was $ 14 off my minimum spend and not once did they mention it to me, so I was then slapped with the $ 350 room hire fee. It goes to show the integrity of the staff and management that they neither pointed out that I was under the minimum spend by so little or that they did not ask if we would like to buy one more round of drinks to avoid the extra $ 350. My event was the first week of April and I have sent numerous emails and called so many times to discuss and rectify the situation but I have had NO return communication whatsoever. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. To say that I am disgusted is closer to how I feel. They are now charging more than twice what my minimum spend was because they are offering«better service and quality». I don’t see how they can justify that as my experience has been the quite the opposite and a higher cost should not determine the quality of service. After the event I was also told by numerous friends about how rude the staff were to them, clearly not the service you want to pay any money for. It sickens me that they do not have any respect for their customers. If this is the way they do business then good luck to them. They clearly want the money over a good reputation.

Awesome new menu. Innovative and tasty food. Best meal I’ve eaten for a very long time. Service was excellent. House bubbles are a must even though hey won’t divulge where they come from!

Went into Grace for a very late lunch. The bar menu looked promising so we ordered Olives, Sweet potato wedges and confit duck + two beverages of course. The service was extremely friendly. We decided to sit in the outdoor area in the sun which was quite funky. A few bench seat options, wooden lounge chairs and smaller tables were available suiting an array of different people. The place was fairly quiet and needed some background music to suit the ambience. After sitting in the blazing sun for a few minutes we decided to sit on the deck chairs in the shade. The food was fairly average The duck needed a bit more seasoning and the aioli wasn’t quite right but i guess nice enough for the quick meal and beverage we required. The sweet potato wedges needed more salt! As we lounged on the deck chairs, i had my sparkling rosè place on the chair arm. I moved a tad and the whole arm fell off! Spilling my wine everywhere! My partner went up to inform the bar staff and they kindly replaced my drink. The only problem was the drink wasn’t what i originally ordered… and was quite frankly crap. All in all it was fine but our experience won’t be taking us back anytime soon.

Grace has a good atmosphere, great drinks choice and good music, the food is the biggest letdown. On a recent visit we had good drinks, as expected, but the food was average. We both had a ‘burger’ item, I had a toastie and my partner had the Sloppy Joe, we were both left feeling underwhelmed. The toastie was okay but the roast beef didn’t have much flavour, the onions were barely there and the mustard was visible but couldn’t be tasted, the cheese, of which there was lots(not a bad thing) also didn’t have much taste other than grease. The Sloppy Joe was also bland, for a smoked pulled port roll it should have that amazing BBQ smoky taste but this was bland and the salad on the roll was undressed and plain as well. The roll was poor as well, it tasted like something that had been microwaved. If you’re after a good night with friends and out for a drink, good music and a good time this is a good choice but for food, there are other options around that will blow you away with flavour by comparison.

The Grace touts itself as a «premier bar & restaurant» located in the heart of Norwood. Sure, the décor certainly exudes an upmarket bar and the courtyard area out the back is relaxing and intimate(smallish). Another dining area between the bar and courtyard is spacious and modern, with lots of greenery. There are several seating options from small tables for date night, to long table for groups(see pics). DJs But to call the Grace a restaurant is a bit of a stretch. The menu on their website has not been updated(e.g. bye bye oysters and sliders) and when I dined there recently, the most substantial meal one can have is a burger, albeit, all dressed up and made to be fancy. And it comes with a price to match(the fancy part). The food tasted ok, but for the price tag, not substantial. The drinks list is quite pleasing. Wines from South Australia as well as French and Italian wines. They do cocktails and jugs of Sangria which are always popular with groups. While the Grace does not have a kids menu, due to the spaciousness of the courtyard and back areas, and it’s pretty quiet the Saturday arvo I was there, kids could be happy eating something from the starters menu. The staff were warm and friendly. Overall a very pleasant experience, with the courtyard area being the biggest draw and the ability to accommodate group catch-ups. DJs on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm.

I’ve always had a nice time here. Depending on the management. Food is nice but very overpriced. Come here for a lovely drinking atmosphere. It’s beautiful with a lovely back courtyard and beautiful ambience throughout. The great thing about the grace is there are people from all walks of life, you can find the sweet 16th birthday or the 100th birthday. Everyone is welcome. I wouldn’t recommend eating the food well presented just lacks taste and truly isn’t very filling. Drinks are amazing as are the bartenders. They are also very good with functions, helpful, useful(nice work Mollie who helped me with mine). Atmosphere 9⁄10 food 5⁄10 service 8⁄10

Could be more gracious with the service and servings. Took my mum out for a treat with my girlfriend and we had one of the more memorable meals for all the wrong reasons. After some undersized, under-flavoured and overpriced dishes, I had to head down to Bongiorno’s to get a decent fill on a $ 12 pizza with more to it than the $ 50 tasting menu here. Also we found that you can turn the fear of getting pooed on by a pigeon in the rafters into a way to pass the time waiting for your serves to appear. Seems more like a venue for the Spray tanned Lorna Jane clad Land Rover Sport mums to blow time and money than somewhere about the food.

I think this is such a great place to sit outside in the courtyard on a Sunday afternoon, ordering a few small plates and enjoying friends’ company. I’ve always enjoyed the food here — while it doesn’t always hit the mark, it’s a pretty great strike rate of delicious and creative. They make awesome sangria which they will happily make non-alcoholic if requested — I’ve had many friends who are not drinking(due to, ahem, family circumstances) comment on how drinking a fancy non-alcoholic sangria in the sunshine at the Grace means they almost feel like they are drinking! My one complaint is that their menu changes a little too frequently — I’ve tasted memorable things here months ago that I still wish were on the menu!!!

The Grace is a classy restaurant/bar/beer garden. The food is amazing, though servings are small and prices edge towards the more expensive range. They offer lots of boutique brands behind the bar and the staff are pleasant. During Summer, hit up the courtyard for a refreshing cider. You won’t be disappointed.

Busy Saturday night, front area around the bar was flat out and noisy, moving through to the restaurant — ah a little quieter but a lovely buzz. Wonderful attentive and friendly staff plus the amazing food made the evening so very enjoyable. Definitely recommended and try the Grace Chocolate Bar and the Donuts — oh the donuts!

Trendy, good vibe. Noisy so a bit hard to hear conversation, but maybe that’s just me. The main issue is the mediocre food. Pricey, small servings, not exciting. If you are after cocktails then 4 stars, for meals then not so much.

I’m from the South and have a complex about not fitting in at the best of times, so on my first visit to Grace I was shaking in my boots. So much light, so much posh, so many manicures! But after a few minutes of good service and chilled out vibe I was able to relax. The place to be on The Parade is thanks to that A-Team the Trims family, who are also responsible for the equally buzzy Sparrow and The Manse. All the carry on and hoo haa about this place I reckon is well deserved, coming here is a unique experience and there’s nowhere else around quite like it. You get a little drinks card to hang onto so you can order ten dollar glasses of wine and pricey food without having to actually think about how much you’re paying. Last time I came here we had fries, which come out on a wooden block with an accompanying bowl of ‘aerated ketchup,’ which was absolutely delicious. They appear to be fans of aeration, there are also donuts with aerated chocolate sauce, and scallops with aerated almond cream. We all know how Adelaide folk like to get all worked up over new things, and I reckon this place is worth the hype.

I love the Grace. This may be because anything slightly hipster makes me weak at the knees, but I think everything about it is amazing. Walk in and it looks beautiful. A massive vinyl DJ decks to the side, large high dark wood tables that extend all the way to the cute beer garden out the back. The food is quite expensive, especially the items on the restaurant menu, but it is good. There are also great deals on every night of the week, my favourite being Mexican night on Thursdays. There is a large range of beers and wines as well as their own cocktail list. The Grace is a great place to go for a few drinks, not just to eat. There are live DJs throughout the week, keeping your ears entertained. The Grace seems to be the hip new place to go. Everyone is talking about it, visiting it and raving about it. I generally think it is an awesome place and hope its popularity doesn’t die out with the hype, but I suppose only time will tell!

Yay for cute new places to get your cocktail on! There are a few factors that I feel are colouring my review that I should be upfront about: 1. The first time I went here it was a for a launch party. «Launch party» is code word for«free booze». Not paying for booze will give you a good opinion about ANY venue. 2. It’s literally 1 minute walk from my house. 3. When I mentioned them on Twitter they immediately started following and chatting. Social media win. The interior is slick, white and modern, stylish but with personality. It’s a little too crisp and considered for ragamuffins like myself but overall it’s inviting.(They also use a great font for their signage, which design geeks such as myself will appreciate.) The venue itself is surprisingly comprehensive — peeking through the front door you would be tempted to think it’s a slip of a place, but you’d be wrong. While it’s narrow it extends back from the front area to dining tables, to a huge eating area, to a beer garden. And that’s not mentioning the courtyard out the front. They also do deals throughout the week — my fave has to be the $ 5 hotdogs. I prefer the chilled out vibe of weeknights; on Fridays and Saturdays when the DJs are spinning tunes it gets really packed out and it’s pretty expensive. People? Meh. Just give me a $ 5 hotdog and my bestie any day.

Grace is my favourite place on the Parade if I don’t have to be on a budget. The interior is very simplistic, with little decoration but with pretty tables and chairs. At the back there is a nice enclosed outside area, which has heaters during winter and umbrellas in summer. This is definitely my favourite area of this place, however, if you come here on a Friday or Saturday night, don’t be disappointed if you have to stand up because it’s fully packed. Grace has DJ nights but I prefer coming here during a weeknight, when it’s calm and quiet. As mentioned beforehand, it’s not cheap. Expect to pay nearly $ 10 for a glass of wine and up to $ 20 for a cocktail. They also have an excellent cheese platter and their mini burgers(yes, they are very mini) are very tasty. Grace is not a place I would go to every week, but once in while I come here to treat myself with a great cocktail and some delicious food. I higly recommend it!

Went on a Friday early evening. They had an offer for $ 7 Wagyu chesse burgers. We ordered these with some drinks and were charged $ 9 for the burgers. This was questioned and rectified. Eventually the burgers came out. Rather disappointed when the burgers came out. They were at most 2.5″ in diameter. More like a mini burger! Not quite what was advertised and definitely not a a meal. Would I go back? Probably not. Adelaide has too many other places that offer much better value for money, without the attitude. Disappointed to say the least.
