I’ve been here a few times and the service has always been great and the atmosphere(even during a week night) is surprisingly amazing. When it comes to food I’ve had a few mixed thoughts. I’ve ordered the same meal on two different occasions(ravioli) and it was very different both times. However, their pizza has never failed to impress me or my company. I recommend their pizzas and desserts!

Well, this is certainly a complete contrast of Nundah’s other pub. Where the Prince of Wales is basically your typical tranditional grungy pub, this is a much classier gastro-pub(not that I’m a big fan of gastro). This place wasn’t actually all that bad, especially since they had a bar at the front and that their seats are really comfortable(so comfortable that you could fall asleep in them, but don’t do that because you are more likely than not to get into a bit of trouble. They even have a verandah out the front with some equally nice chairs, and while you might be able to fall asleep in them, you might discover all of the people walking past will see you. Anyway, the bar has some nice craft beers on tap, though I can’t say too much about the restaurant since we weren’t interested in a meal at the time. Mind you, I can’t say whether I would visit it again since it is in Nundah, but it wasn’t bad at all.

Since the renovations, The Royal has become an upmarket pub with an Italian restaurant. I’ve had pizza, pasta, lasagne, and steak over several visits. It was all very good, the meals are very large, almost too big. A bit pricey and a bit noisy but one of the better places to eat around here.

The Royal has undergone a killer renovation and come out the other end like the Swan from the Ugly Duckling. It’s now a really nice place to enjoy something to eat with specials abounding and a really good range of booze too. Had the pasta and got the prawns too — it was really good, quick prompt service and the food arrived really quickly, which was great given it was lunch time. Give it a crack, you’ll be Royally surprised. You’re welcome.

Amazing renovations have taken place in this pub that used to be … well … pretty dingy :) I have been wanting to try it since it reopened and after hearing a lot of great reports from the members and staff of Go Health(who eat there regularly) I thought I would finally give it a shot. We went on Saturday night and it was very busy but we only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. We decided to start off with a pumpkin and goats cheese pizza(a recommendation from a friend at Go Health). It was amazing! The pizza base was hand made and had lots of yummy goats cheese on it but I would have liked to have seen a bit more pumpkin on it(but I love pumpkin). Our mains were the veal ragu pappadelle and the seafood marinara liguine. The veal ragu was so tender and work so well with the pasta. Very simple flavours done very well but I would have liked a bit more parmesan cheese with it. The seafood marinara had a lot of seafood in it which was great but unfortunately the crab and calamari in the mix were very overdone, tough and chewy. A bit disappointing but still quite nice overall. Dessert was the Lindt Chocolate Torta and the Lemon Pudding. Both desserts were outstanding and very filling. My dining companion really liked the selection of beers there and highly recommended the«Minimum Chips» beer which is on tap. The other thing I liked about this place is that all of the wait staff were Italian — always a good sign for an Italian restaurant. Overall, there were a few very minor things that could have been better but I would definitely be back but probably not on such a busy night.

Quaint little pub with an authentic English style interior, food specials are regularly on the menu, they also do great pizzas Should be noted it under renovations now, and with the recent development around nundah the view from the smoking area balcony is pretty boring(laughing at people in the gym while you smoke and drink is a highlight) The pokie room still had a one armed bandit, but with the renos this could go too. Full of «locals», could become a hangout for hipster doffuses after the renovations though :(
