I’ve had many birthday meals here with my family and also many meals celebrating their birthdays or special occasions too, and I absolutely love this place. The food here is always great, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. There’s plenty of ambience and it’s in such a nice area. I would highly recommending coming here for a meal if you’re in the area.

Really enjoyable meal in a great location. I had the best beef and Guinness pie I’ve ever had and I’ve had many. The cob loaf was awesome too. Warm friendly service and reasonably priced restaurant, definitely worth a visit.

Went there for a friends birthday. Nice atmosphere and great beer. One of the waitresses was possibly in a bad mood as it seemed like a big effort to bring us our food. Mixed my dinner up with another patron, brought the food out announcing the cooking type and not the actual type of meat. Eg. Medium. Well done. Etc My friend asked specifically for well done but most of the meat came out rare. When we spoke to another waitress about our experience she said she would let the cook know. Nobody came over to apologize and I think that was the cherry on the cake. Terrible experience which was a shame for my mates birthday.

For the price and quality of food I left the Pig and Whistle Tavern a very happy customer. After a walk to Sherbrooke Falls, we were all starving and hadn’t booked dinner anywhere but thought we would try our luck at the Tavern as recommended by a colleague. The service was consistent and average HOWEVER the decoration and the food was what made the night great! We ordered the Piggy Platter to share the it was a great mix of bread, olives, pork, cheese… all the goodies(there was 5 of us). For our mains we tried: Vegetarian Pizza — super tasty with thin base. Meat Lovers Pizza Eye fillet steak — medium to perfection, tender and juicy(expect for my sister not liking rocket leaves) Pork Belly — falls apart and juicy. Steak and Guinness Pie — I would have liked the chips to have had more flavour and more guinness in the pie. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we actually had half of each pizza left over so perhaps next time I would look at sharing more dishes instead of ordering a main each.

I’ve been here three times now and have enjoyed it every time. Great British pub. Good food and drink. It can be busy at times so I would recommend going early or booking a table. I had the roast turkey breast for lunch today and can say that it was great. It was supposed to come with gravey but didn’t, and I thought it might be dry but was surprised to find it cooked just right and didn’t need it at all.

Great place. very cosy in winter. The food is good and hearty and the ambiance has to be has a great selection of beers and you can just pop in for a drink if you’re not wanting a meal. Youd better book a table if you want to dine though

Had the Pork Belly. Possibly the best I ever had. Nice atmosphere and surroundings.
