I bought the best Canon camera here and a tripod for my husband to start his movie career. The staff were super friendly, very knowledgeable and always told me a select few options of what I was after, so I wasn’t left confused with all the technical jargon that comes with this electronic stuff. They had a really good deal on the bluray players and some pretty dirt cheap prices on some good quality new release blurays as well. We picked up the China and India documentaries on bluray for my parents’ birthdays for under $ 40(both of them). They also have a pretty decent car stereo area, a separate GPS area with your Garmins and whatnot… and a really good range of camera cases. So you can look that bit groovier with your new camera, that you probably don’t know how to use yet. But you still look cool no?

Having one of those energetic fathers who enjoy nothing more than knocking things together or cooing over plasma televisions, I have experienced/been dragged into my fair share of electronic megaplexes. WoW sight and sound is one such a place. I have always been in awe of just how much they manage to cram onto the shelves (or the dizzying amount of products they stuff into their catalogues.) These guys stock anything and everything electronic. The usual range of tablets, pcs and macs are in abundance as well as T. V’s, set top boxes, home theatre’s, gaming car accessories and DVD’s. The sales staff are really prompt and knowledgable, but be sure to keep an eye on the time or you’ll end up spending the whole day comparing 3D flatscreens.(Thanks dad.)

I used to think the only place to go to buy electronics was JB’s until I discovered WoW Sight & Sound. They have a gigantic range, and extremely competitive prices — yes, often cheaper than JB’s. There is the standard issue with sales assistants that always happens at electronic stores(dude, I need an Xbox game, not a patronising lecture designed to show me how little I know) however there are also a few scattered around who subscribe to old school notions of service. If you need electronics, check these guys out.
