Very overpriced for what you get. Ordered the bruschetta of tomato, ricotta, avo and basil. All toppings were very skint, and kind of old-hat in the presentation. There can’t have been anymore than ¼ of an avocado on there. The cost? — $ 17.90. Ouch.(For your referenc, you can get a much better version of those ingredients at Café Le Monde in Surry Hills for $ 8). Plus they whacked on a $ 7.50 ”Sunday surcharge” for the three of us. Coffee is above average, but so are those Paddington prices.

I was lucky enough to finally get lunch here the other day. My first visit was take-away sushi rolls which were amazing, but rich. The breakfast for me was a total miss; greasy pancakes that weren’t anything to write home about. And my mother’s toast was a very thin, unsatisfying serve. However, my sit-down lunch? Exquisite. Unbelievable. Amazing. I had a spicy tuna dragon roll — cooked tuna, a spicy red mayonnaise and avocado. It was mind-blowingly delicious; and the spice added a taste(and heat!) rather than just being there to make it hot. My mother got the sashimi salad, which was also exquisite — fresh sashimi(tuna and white fish), crisp salad with avocado and the most perfect dressing ever. We both had the panna cotta for dessert — has to be one of the best — if not the absolute best — panna cotta I’ve had. It was as light as a cloud, and the berries and fruit were so fresh and delicious. It was a beautiful meal, and had so many different choices on the menu that I will definitely be back(but only for lunchXD)!

Read the review from the American. You’re right Sydney is just too expensive. I’m gobsmacked how much some places charge for poor food and indifferent staff. Thats why Jackie’s is a little different. I know its Sydney charges but at least the food is extremely good, the service better than average and the location is fantastic. Sure there are no harbour views but it’s a cool crowd who make things interesting. It’s a good honest café, doing a great job.

The food is certainly tasty(had the porridge) + the coffees were delicious, but the prices make this place a bit absurd($ 14 for the porridge? $ 6 for toast? Charging an extra $ 0.50 for decaf instead of regular?). Plus, there’s a $ 2/person surcharge for dining on the weekends. Not sure if that’s just an AU thing, but it seemed a bit much.

A café where you can soak up the ambience of Paddington’s fashion district, Jackie’s café is a must visit place to get a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The warm atmosphere and lovely food makes it one of the locals’ top favourite cafes. They serve the best vanilla and ricotta hotcakes that you’ll ever taste and the yummiest steak sandwich that will keep you coming back for more. And if sushi is your thing, you needn’t worry about leaving the café because they also serve that here! In addition to the really delicious food, you’ll also get to taste the best coffee in the area. The double macchiato they serve will mark this café on your list of best coffees in Sydney. All in all, Jackie’s Café is highly recommended!
